i can imagine that over the last year or so you have used the word "toilet star" in your mental dialogue while looking at the emotes.

I don't use very often, but when I do, it's always attached to something I expect someone will find especially provocative for some reason or other.

I really am not sure what is supposed to be for at all. I just can't find a place for it. If I want to convery extreme happiness I'll more than likely drop in .

I don't remember when we got these emotes. Maybe 2014? It came wit the new "ATS 5/3" that was meant to be more mobile friendly.

Colors were more muted, no shadows or bevels, etc. It was reworked again to add in some bevels and shadows at some point. I like that, it more neatly defines spaces and functions.

The emotes...i agree that we could have more expressive emotes. While it'd be nice, its below item 100 on my list of what matters. But it does make the list. LOL

Yeah that's been the evolution of web design, which certainly aligned itself with mobile popularity. Went away from skeuomorphism to flat, and now to 'flat 2.0' (which reintroduces subtle bevel and shadow). That's the direction Google went with their Material Design too.

Still, no reason we can't have emoticons that resemble the old ones albeit flat or "flat 2.0".

Hopefully we'll get that. These new ones are eye sores.

These are the emojis of satan.
ATS needs to distance ourselves from them once and for all.
