Mexico's 'avengers' backed by public sick of crime and lack of punishment.

A wave of vigilante killings – such as the bus passenger who shot four robbers – has struck a chord with Mexicans fed up with crime, corruption and impunity

People are sick and tired of the crime and a corrupt complacent system which is either too inept to stop the violence or too corrupt, taking payoffs to turn a blind eye.

The article goes on to list a few instances of citizens defending themselves against violent criminals.

And this is taking place with the approval of the people. When police asked for a description of the man who shot the bus robbery suspects, they replied that they simply "couldnt remember".

One senator has even proposed loosening Mexico’s strict firearms laws to allow people to keep weapons in their cars and businesses.

Of-course he did. Know why? Because the criminals are armed to the teeth, leaving the law abiding folks defenseless.

And this is what needs to happen in US cities where crime is skyrocketing, the community needs to fight back.

Police cant be everywhere and we dont want them everywhere.

People have to take responsibility for the safety of themselves, their loved ones and their communities.

And the government has no right to stop them.

Disarmed populations are not citizens, but slaves.

Either a slave to the state, or a slave to the criminals who terrorize communities, or both in the case of Mexico.

Actually, the Mexicanos have fought back against the Cartel corruption for some time now.....
News, however is suppressed because ...well you know,.....
Whole towns have armed themselves discreetly against predation.
Some battles have been fought as well.....
I understand a Mormon offshoot colony down there is into self defense too.....
ATS used to have a correspondent in Michoacán but I haven't seen his avatar for some time.....if hes out there, maybe we can get a first hand account....?
just saying....we do have our "own" sources here from time to time....lets hope for some input.

Mexico is saddled by a double oppression, a corrupt system from top to bottom in its own right, and the cartels that control that system when it suits their needs.

I've met a lawyer in Mexico that got involved in defending cartel members that did get arrested in some rare manner. He later said to a mutual friend that initially the cartels would come and ask for his assistance in defending their people. After awhile, they came to him and told him what he was to do with his connections within the system. The average, modern Mexican has zero trust in their government or its ability to protect them from the cartels.

Agree wholeheartedly.

Also, if our idiot govt worked with certain "illegals" who have come here out of terror to escape the cartel ran communities particularly on the border, they would gain a HUGE amount of information in order to combat it. Not all obviously, but many families come here risking their lives to escape the heinous crime. Illegal is illegal and I believe in upholding the law, however... the law is also merciful and can also help these people.

Mexico doesn't have a 2nd amendment. How can they embrace it?

The Cartels have a saying...Platta or Plomo (or similar)
It means Gold or Lead?
But you WILL do as we say....or die.....
The Mexican People will not let this stand forever.....

Seriously though, making Mexico great .. or maybe just having a MUUUCH better relationship with Mexico vs the cartels would only benefit us. And benefit us greatly.

In those cases they should apply for asylum due to persecution in their home country. They could stay here legally. They would most likely be granted such as long as they weren't heinous actors themselves.

I prefer the Playa(not a typo).
