What is your favorite condiment? Specifically, if you had to pick one (and only one) condiment, what would you choose? And by 'condiment' I mean items like catsup, mustard, pickles, onion, lettuce (but not for salad), relish, peppers, mayonaise, salad dressing (miracle whip, etc), and the like. Also, you already have salt and pepper so don't choose those two. Also, I'm not just talking about accompaniments to sandwiches and burgers here, rather just in general for any food.

Crazy / oddball question, I know, but I'm actually being serious and have a reason for asking. I will reveal my reason for asking after seeing some responses.

Have fun, and I look forward to your answers!

It really depends on what I'm eating.
Hotdogs....gotta have mayo

If my sister and past (andcurrent) girlfriend
Are any indication I think the answer will overwhelmingly be...

Ranch!

Hope I'm wrong.

If you had to choose between those two, which would you pick?

Homemade mayonnaise with plenty of garlic.

It's actually called Aioli - delicious with almost anything.

If stranded on a deserted island, I'd want my Sarayo (Sriracha and mayonnaise blend). This answer probably categorizes me as a rabid, stiletto-wearing, mood-swinging fembot but that's OK. If that's the case, I'll own it.

Wow
Ranch dressing is basically mayo with herbss and spices in it..

Hidden Valley Ranch seems to be the popular one..

Maybe it's just around here but I see people use it for almost everything .. pizza salads burgers chicken tenders French fries tacos..

I will admit that a pizza with soracha drizzled on top and dipped in ranch is pretty awesome ..

Maybe I'm way off and it's just a Michigan thing?

Would be for the best because I see people down a literal cup of it with a few slices .. all that mayo! It's so good but pretty gross when you think about it..

ketchup.
I can live without everything else, but enough ketchup can even kill the taste of liver.

That's tough... can't pick between ranch dressing and salsa. For some things (like sweet potato fries) only ranch dressing will do. But for some things (scrambled eggs for example) only salsa will do. But both are great on sooooo many things!

LOL a Michigan thing? That would have to be Ketchup.
After all, you only have two (credible) options for pasties, right?

Gravy or Ketchup.

Haha ya good point.. haven't had a pasty in a while as a kid only ketchup now it's gravy... with maybe a lil ketchup to boot 😂

Around here the biggest argument is do you want your coney Detroit or Flint style??

Personally, I'm reppin Flint town.. Detroit is just a chili dog... both of which deserve mustard and onion.

I'm torn between Ranch Dressing (good buttermilk Ranch) and Frank's Red Hot sauce.

If I had to decide, I guess I'd probably go with the Frank's Red Hot. It's not terribly hot, but has a great sweetness to it.

Team Miracle Whip - with Pace Picante running a close 2nd!

Thank goodness my husband prefers Miracle Whip over regular mayo too, cause not liking the same one can cause some dust ups! I think it really depends what you grew up with...and where.

ETA: I also love Ranch, but only on certain things.

Mayo is good for lots of situations, probably best all-around. Not just for sandwiches. Can sub for dressing, if needed. Takes dryness out of baked parmesan chicken or halibut.
