hahahahaha. . . . uh, ok.

Just to make sure we're on the same page. . . I do consider myself a liberal, I'm for freedoms, individual rights, liberty, personal responsibility, lower taxes, less controlling government.

I'm not from the U.S, but I would class myself as a socialist, with very liberal views, and I am certain that the U.S has made the right decision in electing Trump.

With Hillary, we would have potentially witnessed an escalation in hostilities towards Russia, leading to God knows what?

We would have seen Globalisation expanding at a rate we had never witnessed before and that would mean more people being left behind. In fact under TTIP, countries will be handing over the keys to the bank vaults, because the Multi-Nationals would have access to all public services, which is funded by your taxes.

Due democratic process has been followed and Trump has been elected. He's no Hitler and believe me, if he started acting in anyway that would suggest he could be dangerous to any element of society, I would support any calls for him to be overthrown.

The Liberals had a lucky escape, Hillary would have been bad news and tarnished the liberal political system forever, imo.

I read this twice and I still can't figure out if you're being sarcastic or not.

Not at all. This is happening everywhere.

Have you been everywhere?

Just because you decided you're now a liberal and found yourself a support group of fellow liberals to echo liberal views doesn't mean its happening everywhere.

Funny that the protest are all in liberal cities that are overwhelmingly liberal already. I have an election map that shows you are dead wrong and maybe even delusional.

I agree with you. If Hillary had won, it would have been the end of liberalism in America for good after her 4 years were up. But now with a Trump presidency on the horizon, people are coming together more and more. That whole common enemy thing Reagan spoke about.

Now don't assume I'm talking about Trump and his supporters as the "enemy". Just the ideologies. People are people, and ideas can change.

The only states I haven't spent any time in and have a circle of friends in are Idaho and New Hampshire. The past 6 years I've spent driving around and meeting people. I never thought that would come in handy until now.

I'm starting to hate the fact everyone thinks you must be one or the other left or right but can't be a mix with left siding views for one subject and right sided for others.
Oh and the guy who called left siding people puss is....Grow up.

I got a challenge for you.

Call yourself a Trump supporter in front of your new liberal friends and then tell me how loving the liberal community is.

There's no hate or animosity towards Trump supporters in my circle of friends at all. If you talk from that position, people close up to everything you say. And what we want is understanding.

You'd be surprised how many Trump voters have already jumped ship because of things they've experienced since election night.

That's speculation. Do it.

Tell them you no longer support liberal views and support Trump, say it with a straight face and make it believable.

The thing which bothers me in the OP is its open dislike of democracy, and condoning to conspire against legally elected government.

And adding insult to injury, it is imposing this limited far left extremist views to fellow citizens - myself including. As if there would be any nobel in the # load of lies they are fire selling.

The democracy is built on inclusion - not exclusion. And this exclusion is exactly which that "liberal" view point represents. It excludes political difference. It excludes freedom of choice. OP represents deeply rooted hate against fellow citizens.

Thus - I count it in as a pure joke. As I count all the liberals too.

Good, now you and your "acquaintances" can sit politely and quietly in the background while the Big dogs play on the yard.

This is what ATS will be like for awhile now. I'm more "conservative," then anything else (considering I voted once and for Ron Paul) but the baseless # that comes out of people's mouths that is completely unrelated to the topic... it's amazing. It doesn't surprise me that is gets all the attention, either, what does surprise me is how it's apparent in literally every thread.

The divide that people are spreading on ATS is insane... I don't understand how any rational person could think truth of such asinine comments and it bothers me how they always use the comments to derail any thread. They're quick to point the finger and lay the blame and use baseless over generalizations in accomplishing their goal of "winning," or whatever it may be - I'm honestly not too sure.

One thing stands to reason, these people do not represent the ordinary, average, working American. They represent hatred, divide, blame, and ego. I cannot stand Hillary Clinton but anytime anything/anybody mentions anything remotely close being comcieved as negative to Trump is automatically assumed to be a Hillary supporter or Shill, a libtard, or use some of the examples found in these thread (or the dozen others) that follow the same example.

People are absolutely classless in this world.

The past 6 years spent driving to 48 states meeting fellow liberals all getting together over that time period, yet Bernie lost and Hillary lost? The Democrats lost from state houses all across the country to the white house.

Have another one bro

If you read the OP, this is just happening now. No one wanted to organize or have anything to do with government until election night. Now you can't stop people from wanting to get involved in government. I call that a win for democracy.

It's the ones that make it their business to be some kind of white knight and have all the right opinions, are feminised and have no masculinity to speak of.. total products of modern feminism that even end up shunning their own inherent masculinity, that they self-righteously downplay..

The "Stuff White People Like" kind of white liberals that makes one want to puke.. the ones that have no masculinity to speak of. That are totally inauthentic products of the modern age, total conformist tools that will make it their business to self-righteously speak up about the most inane of things.. always virtue signalling, always trying to look good.. The ones that would like to pretend that they have somehow evolved beyond being a man.. when the truth is they are just conformist cowards that gave in to the pressure of becoming politically correct.

I can't ever bring myself to respect a "man" like that.

Total clowns.. total wusses. Zero self-respect.

You can't have it both ways. Either it's just happening or you know it's happening because you've seen it over the last 6 years. Which is it?

It's frustrating. I have the mindset that anyone who cats a vote for this government is willingly accepting their own demise. This is the same government that's recruited Nazis, killed and experimented on American civilians, has used false flags to overthrew nations, etc etc and they continually cry out: "BUT DIS TIME, ITZ GUN B DIFFURENNTTTT!!1!!1."

In reality, however, most people base their decisions on the information they recieve and although most people claim "they despise the MSM," they know the names of the people doing the reporting lol - so there's a major source of many Americans information. I don't have cable/antenna nor do I want it and I haven't watched a "news channel," since I was a young teenager. Anyway - most people just do what they think is best. What most people however don't do is proactively examine these scenarios while at the very least attempting to see things without their own preconceived notions stopping them from seeing things differently than how they themselves see things.

But then again - most people type in Twitter-like trances where they make incredibly shallow and short posts that are just personal attacks with "clever," metaphors that are indicative of a high-school mindset.

In short - people are fueling the divide and feeding off of it, and entirely enjoying it whilst doing so. It's pretty shameful to be completely honest, it's not what America is about. It goes to both "liberals," and "conservatives," but first and foremost for "Americans."

People talk big game about how "I'm for small government and less intrusion," and then are suddenly on about people who work (like everyone else) and do what they please in their own time harming no one, and insist that the local/state/federal level entity should intervene "on their behalf." It's also worth noting how these supposed claims of being for "individual rights, and personal freedoms," also flies out of the window when it comes to draconian legislature and wars that are continually waged out without discretion.

This country has slipped from freedom/democracy to flat-out Idiocracy (and not the movie although I do enjoy it). We can't have a well-spoken, calm, temperamental, collected, reserved, patient, honest, and respectful man/woman run for the president of the U.S. because that's not what the American people want.

They want a celebrity status mogul whose face/name were once a major thing in the entertainment/media world who is about Twitter and dank memes. It's a joke.

How could it be happening for 6 years if Trump just got elected a week ago? I never said I've been driving around for 6 years drumming up liberal support for anything, I was just hanging out and seeing what kinds of different people I could meet.

Since the election, everything has changed. I talk to friends all over the map daily, and there's only one thing on people's minds.

I just don't understand why you think this is happening everywhere. I guess you know it because your on the phone 24/7 since the election with different groups of friends from 48 states?

The fact of the matter is liberalism was completely rejected last Tuesday from state houses to the white house.

But good luck in your new found political ideology. Just make sure your views are challenged. ATS is good for that lol!

People aren't the problem. No type of meaningful change will come from forgetting who we are. We can't continue to view each other as enemies just because our ideas may be different.
