Plantar Fasciitis

If you have ever had it - you know.
I guess it's my penance of years of heels and fashionable footwear.

This is the third time I've had it. Too much fun on Halloween, that's all I'm saying.

This is the longest it's ever lasted. And the foot specialist store near me closed so now it's just me, the internet and Dr. Scholls trying to manage this nightmare. I have crap to do, the holidays are coming. Help! Any suggestions?

I wear heels also, everyday that I'm not in the woods or on the track now and I can relate.

Although my issue has often been with my ankles and not the bottom of my foot. Skinny, not strong, ankles.

Those ball of the foot pads really can help I think. I don't prefer the chunkier heel/sole I believe it really can help.

There are some really good ideas/advice above. I think, like my 'sprained' ankles that time is all that can heal.

It can be hard to wear the 'flats' for a day or so and give yourself time to recover but, sometimes is maybe necessary.

And yes, whining is permitted. First world probs, for sure but they are ours.

Thanks all! I'll look into the other suggestions. I think someone on ATS did post something about fascia throughout our body being crucial to good health/aging.

And yeah, my very high arches are the culprit, coupled with heels for years and frequent barefoot episodes. And, this time, barefoot on a ladder. So dumb.

Hey KJ!

Are there any Massage Envy businesses in your area? I've got 15 massages stacked up and I'm giving them out to my family and I have a few left
They do various massages, if you ask when you call for the appt. they will recommend the best massage therapist for your condition. They're an hour long and I'll give you two for Christmas. PM me and I'll set them up for ya. And also, (has probably already been mentioned), an epsom salt soak and a pedicure with a very experienced technician that knows how to repair feet with a rub.

Feel better,

STM

Yeah, I am chronically dehydrated because of lupus so I know that's why I get them so frequently and the muscle is shortened in people with high arches so it's the perfect place for cramps...which is mostly where I get them. Isn't it awful? I think any injury or pain in the feet is the absolute worst.

I did start drinking organic coconut water and that is very hydrating. Only thing is, it's got a very odd taste that takes some getting used to. But it is more hydrating than water, so I gulp it down lol

I hope you're feeling better. And if not a good pedicure even if it's just a foot rub might help, they're experts.

I feel for ya, KJ!!!!!

I've had a few things go bad on my feet....maybe everything damn near except plantar fasciitis.....

All add up to pain...or being off balance.
I've had heels spurs in both feet, hammer toes, Morton's neuroma on the right foot.

Now I have flat feet.
Which sucks pretty much.....no more walking barefoot.

Lots probably had to do with poorly fitting shoes and high heels....some was hereditary....like the flat feet.

I hope you can get some relief.
