dude if they are 3% of the population they should shut the # up and adapt to our way of life... If i go to Europe I don't tell those crazy socialists to #ing be liberal or conservative or to work 60 hours a week etc. come on these #ers are treasonous

This is why we need a Constitution. We have to protect the rights of everyone, including the "3%" of the population you would like to silence.

When you speak the way you have in this thread, you discredit yourself and have no credibility in talking about Constitutional Rights, when it is people like you that would strip them from those you disagree with.

Can he do the job? Who knows? Did they even ask themselves that question? I doubt they care.

This right here sums up the entire democratic party that's been on display thanks to Wikileaks.

Remember the 'food groups' VP list?

The democrats have so many little constituencies to massage and manage that they can't present anything near a united front. All they care for is the optics of any situation and what sort of political capital can be made from any event of note that happens. They don't really care about what happens to their followers, all they care about is can they fool them some more to advance whatever agenda they're looking to push.

The US way of life is diverse and there is not set culture.

What you are saying is you want people to think, believe and act as you do.

Not going to happen. You don't know much about the US if that is your stance.

I actually tend to agree with you. But you asked why they had a right in OUR country, but if theyre legal citizens, its their right also to disagree with you and be vocal about it because it's as much their country as yours.

I don't think any minority voice should rule the majority.

For a group of people that likes to talk about the Constitution and it's principles, you sure don't know much about it and don't understand how it should be applied.

It should not matter what someone's religion is, unless you want to create biased opinions because of it.

OK, what's Howard Dean's religion? How about Debbie Wasserman-Schultz's? I think we all know Donna Brazile's but I'll bet the only reason we do is because she tried to use it to deflect some questions from Megyn Kelly about her email shenanigans. But Keith Ellison's has always been a prominent thing.

If religion truly does not matter, then why is his so special?

He religion is not so special. Who cares what he believes in? That's his personal choice.

Well, I'm not defending anyone, but I think that's his entire argument and angst. That if a small percentage actually have their way, that those constitutional protections may end up becoming irrelevant.

Your going off the rails a little here mate.

Do I agree with most liberal ideas? No, but if the Democrats would have won the election with the 3% or 8% or whatever % 's of minorities voting then we would have to live with that. It's a democracy and they have exactly the same right to champion for their change as anyone else.

You are forgetting that the minority groups don't win elections on there own. It still take a large portion of the white majority. 50+ million people voted for the other side. That's how it's supposed to work. The same system you want to chastise is responsible for the victory we had. Next time we might lose. You can't silence a voice because you don't like the music. That's fundamental.

You know this.

And no one is stripping our constitutional rights. No party is dumb enough to alienate half the country.

No.

There is very much an American culture. The principle of 'diversity" and "multi-culturalism" erodes that idea. If you encourage people to come and keep their native cultures then you do not have one country but a nation of tiny colonies of other countries. There is no cohesive principle under which they can unify. Let's not forget that the etymology of diversity comes from a Latin word that is essentially negative in meaning and leads to hostility.

Gosh, what do we see today? I am shocked!

What should be happening is assimilation into the over-arching American culture with each group retaining their distinct flavor which is what actually makes America great.

Poster don't get it, they repeat that the united states government is not religious and not a christian state. Which is true, but not the point.
People still can and do vote based on religious beliefs. A person's religious beliefs help inform us on what kind of moral structure a person has. Voters are most definitely allowed to make decisions based on this issue.

I don't know if I consider myself a christian or just a deist. But I would much rather live by and have a government ran by christians than jews, hindus, buddhist, taoist, shintoist, shamanist, satanist, muslims, and especially not ran by atheist.

Do you realize what it would take for those rights to be taken away? You would need more than a 3% minority.

The argument and angst is for not. There is no reason to fear.
