"I am genuinely concerned about the LGBTQ people, and what they will be facing in a Trump Presidency"
I have heard that so many times over the last few days, and I really dont understand what their fear is. What will a Trump Presidency change for them? Ive been told they are afraid of being marginalized, but no one really has an answer. Im old, white and conservative, and I dont give a rip about your sexual orientation. In my circle of loved ones there are LGBTQ and people of color, and I really dont understand what their fear is. The only line I draw, is on the bathroom issue. Im never going to be OK with a man using the same bathroom as my granddaughters. If you look, and act like a man, the only ball check will be my knee in your groin. If you look and act like a women, I dont have a problem with you, But, I feel that is my right too.

Im probably completely ignorant and out of touch with what they have to go through. So, can anyone explain what their legitimate fear of Trump is? What are they afraid of losing? I really dont get it.

Trump has said several things in support of LGBT and even waved a gay flag. I swear the left live in its own little alternate reality.

I have explained that, they just dont believe it. To them it isnt an argument. Im beginning to think they just want to be victims or just want sympathy for being different.

Depending on whether or not the LGBT community acts like ignorant, petulant and spoilt children or not, will dertermine how they are viewed, not just by President Elect Trump, but essentially by everyone else too, including their own community.

Grow up, act like adults, and perhaps you'll be treated as such.

I've heard it as well, and as far as I've been able to ferret out, it's like they expect a squad of brownshirts from a bad remake of The Wall to go marching down the street rounding them up for prison.

I see it as an expression of generalized angst from people with poor coping skills. Sort of like the threads here and discussions elsewhere that somehow Trump will make all birth control illegal.

It's like some Larson collection of snake horror stories or something. Just people winding themselves up.

The people who need to be worried are lifetime career politicians on both sides of the aisle. Something bad is about to happen to their future, I think.

Perhaps they are concerned that, under Trump, they will lose some momentum as it relates to the whole transgender question (though I do not really know what Trump;s position is on this).

With GOP's controlling the White House and Congress, probably things like the washroom issue, transgender rights in the military, and (maybe?) paid-for sex change operations for convicts, will not proceed at the speed that was happening with Obama's rule by Executive Order approach.

I think most of the LGBTQ's issues are pretty mainstream these days, or have become normalized (if not celebrated)...so must only be some of the more "fringe" things that they might be worried about.

Maybe somebody from that community can fill us in...

There isnt any fear. I watched Hillary supporter on CNN last night, out right lie about how terrifying Trump will be.
He claimed that he was on the phone all day long, with people crying and thinking they will have to sell their houses and lose their jobs because Mr T is the big man now.
Its just a few ingrates all butt hurt about Trump, so they are blowing everything out of proportion to make it seem like hes some evil monster.
The dude supports the gay community for eff sakes. Yet that is not good enough for these fear mongers.
Not to mention, Trump is going to be relying HEAVILY on experienced advisers, until he gets the ins and outs of the position.
It will be rooms full of people making any decision, that is proposed, not just Trump.

Ummm...well obviously we're going to be rounding up all the malcontents and showing them the door...

The sad part is that Canada doesn't want you...So off to Venezuela with your non republican butts...

Actually...whomever is holding animosity towards another...simply because of individual...personal...unique...perspectives...are the ones that need a Venezuelian vacay

Those that bring no harm to any other in the form of coercion...physical or otherwise...
Which of course does not render acceptable...SJW or fanatic behavior...

Fear not...

Fear not...all are legally welcome...

They're doing the same thing many here in support of Trump are doing and forgetting about the republican majorities in the house and senate; the evangelicals and the "moral compass" of America. The president is not the end all of this government, that you would dismiss this concern with such logic is astonishing.

It's unreal. Not only CAN'T he do anything rash (he's only the President after all), but sincerely, I don't think any conservative younger than 60 would allow it. Despite what they think. It would spawn God's own pushback. Plus, I've never seen any indication that he's either racist or some drooling anti-gay bigot.

Hell, you might see Milo in a conspicuous position before it's over.

It sort of goes along with my Mexican friends here, they all think they're going to be rounded up by La Migra despite being citizens. Nothing could be further from the truth. Anyone who's a citizen or who has a valid visa or green card are golden. It's the undoc workers that are going to be looked at. And I'll bet you there's going to be some sort of guest worker visa that happens, truthfully, that requires the ag companies to pay proper wages, taxes and benefits.

I suspect that it's the left projecting their fears on the situation. We tend to fear the things we would have done in that situation. So they see the right doing to them what they would have done. It'll calm down when that doesn't happen.

I suspect Soros will find it tough to interfere with the next election, though, before it's over.

That, and as an evangelist excuse to ram their deals down everyones throat.

Gays = 4% of the population.
Transgenders = less than 1% of the population.

They got their equal rights, restrooms, anti-discrimination laws, yet the leftists of the lot have still been on the warpath (seemingly more than ever). WTF.

What do they even want beyond this is beyond me.

Pence signed the Bathroom Bills. It's convenient you draw a line at a 'bathroom issue' but offer no solution.

The amount of additional details in the scenario you skip are astounding.

What about Trans people who transitioned at young age? To the point it's completely unrecognizable they've changed Gender?

What about Female-Male trans people? The issue isn't just male perverts.

You can paint our community that way all you want(perverts), it simply makes you a biggot. You can cry your special snowflake story all you want about how you're unable to protect your grandaughter in the bathrooms. More Transgender have been assaulted in bathrooms than anyone else, and mostly by Men who talk just like you.

You just assume she will be assaulted by gay people. You speak like you would kill someone over your granddaughter sharing a room with another human being. What are they afraid of? You dumbass.

I very much hope so.

Could do with some of that on my side of the pond too.
