I have not posted in this forum since the video with Billy Bush came out. I felt enraged, disenfranchised, disgusted, and to be honest, not a part of America. It does not feel good to feel that way.

I cast my vote for Donald Trump for many reasons. But one was forefront in my mind: I want to be part of America again. I want to be a citizen, not be considered a second-class citizen, a racist, a sexist, or anything else I am not. I am sure today that I was not as alone as I was beginning to feel.

I now thank you sincerely for this thread, for having the cajones to admit defeat gracefully. You regained some respect from me. I don't know if that matters to you, but it is the truth.

Rest assured, I will do what I have done since I watched the Reagan victory in 1980, but felt I could not do under Obama. I will make every effort to hold this President to his promises. I will speak out loudly when I believe he is in the wrong.

To everyone else here who may be mourning Clinton's loss: I hope we can once again become the shining star of civility and intelligent thought we once were. ATS is a special place for me, a home online I can come to in my times of need. It has been damaged. Let us rebuild and reunite. Antediluvian has lit the way; let us follow him.

This post is a perfect example of humility, thoughtfulness, inclusion... among many other adjectives. Thank you for articulating such a spot-on take. I hope everyone reads it - by far the best reply/post in this thread. I hope quoting your entire post allows others to read it and take from it some perspective. Again, thank you for being beyond spot-on and well-mannered. Bravo, Mr Redneck.

So you are done with your propaganda for now? You did a hell of a job in the last weeks doing dirty laundry here.

Cheers*

But keep the alert status, you will need it.

Very true. You all will not be able to hide from what you have done. I would be concerned, not excited.

I figured since I've been such an active participant in the Mud Pit over these recent months, it was only fitting that I posted this here.

Well you did it. I won't say I was quite as shocked as a lot of people appear to be but I was certainly surprised. I still maintain that Donald Trump is the greater of two evils but we the people have cast our votes and now its done.

I am above all else a proud son of our great nation and I believe that it is absolutely vital to the strength of our democracy that we accept the results of our elections regardless of any personal dismay. Furthermore, for the health of our society, I believe it is incumbent upon on us all to earnestly strive for reconcilation following such a polarizing contest.

I congratulate President-elect Trump but far more than that, I congratulate you his supporters. It's been an exceedingly long, exceptionally contentious election and at its end, you've won the day.

Enjoy your victory.

Disingenuous, condescending, and ego driven.

I get it, you need attention, and now that the election is over, hopefully you gain it through more back to the norm ats style posts. I never thought anyone on either side should apologize, but good on ya. Its like a championship sports game, there is always trash talk before, and afterwards its just a simple matter of good game, as another poster said. My original response though was towards the fact you dont start an apology with comparison statements or belittling, others see it, but not all, it just comes off extremely bitter and 100% disingenuous.

too bad he ruined it with another tabloid style thread just moments ago about Russia helping Trump.

The guy is a star whore. And THIS thread is BS.

I tried being civil long ago with him, when it mattered, as did many here. He chose the road of a brute and simpleton.

This, lie of an olive branch, is unaccepted.

He could make a thread talking about the threat to democracy being carried out by George Soros currently, trying to have us descend into riots nation wide.

But no.

OK so it seems no one else has asked this so I will:

WTF is a Trumpkin?

Did you mean the American voter and just mistyped?

And BTW - we are paying attention. And we are *not* going away.

And we *VOTE*.

Get used to it.

Hell, I'll take it. I know it was hard for you to post and even with the "Trumpkins" remark I give you credit. I am a Trump supporter and while I'm excited to see a non career politician headed to the White House, I'm just as concerned as I would've been had Hillary of won. We reap what we sow and those that voted for Trump will have to wait for our Harvest before we should do any bragging. God bless the United States of America.

Just stop. Listen to yourself:

I tried being civil long ago with him, when it mattered, as did many here. He chose the road of a brute and simpleton.

That's you subconsciously conceding that your claim needs to be bolstered by the made up experiences of "many" fictional others. Then there's this bit which is essentially a tacit admission that your single biggest problem with me is that I'm not posting what you want to read.

He could make a thread talking about the threat to democracy being carried out by George Soros currently, trying to have us descend into riots nation wide.

You're really that concerned with George Soros? Maybe you should stop for a moment to consider whose name is being floated as a likely choice for Treasury Secretary.

Steven Mnuchin?

He was the Trump campaign national finance chair. He made his fortune initially over his seventeen years at Goldman Sachs where he was a partner and where his own father worked for 30 years. Then he did a stint heading... wait for it... Soros Fund Management. More recently, he put together a coalition of wealthy men to purchase what was left of IndyMac. From 2012:

From IndyMac to OneWest: Steven Mnuchin's Big Score

In the fall of 2008 very few institutions or individuals were looking to go long on mortgages and mortgage-backed debt. Mnuchin was one. He soon persuaded others, including John Paulson, George Soros, and Chris Flowers. Together they purchased IndyMac, whose primary assets were $23.5 billion in commercial loans, mortgages, and mortgage-backed securities.

John Paulson being *gasp* another member of Trump's economic council. I was posting about this in September and even before that, in August when the economic advisory team was announced.

The election is over and I am ready to move on. That doesn't mean when the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister says something like he did, I'm going to just ignore it. He's our soon to be President now. Maybe you should ease up on your animosity and do what many others have said they would, be happy that Clinton is out of the picture and watch Trump closely (if optimistically).

We're going to have four years of Trump at the very least. You advocated hard on here for Trump and you got your wish. It seems to me that you should be at LEAST as concerned as I am.

I am not even going to read that. I hope it took a long time to write.

You are done here. No one respects you. The lies and tabloid quality content you dish out now are just terrible.

Its pathetic.

You did this to yourself. You were once respected, even by me.

Now.....youre just a hit piece asshole with a bad attitude.

Did you mean the American voter and just mistyped?

I've already said that if I had it to do over again, I would have went with a different title because it wasn't intended to be offensive and it's been a sticking point for a number of people.

Did you mean the American voter and just mistyped?

And BTW - we are paying attention. And we are *not* going away.

And we *VOTE*.

I've already moved passed the election, it's done. I've been avoiding a lot of mudpit threads, particularly the ones where Trump supporting members have gathered gloat and talk s# about the rest of us. I'm am really trying to dial back the snark but when you say things like that, you really make it difficult.

What do you think the rest of us are? You do realize that at this point, Clinton is ahead by something like 300k in the popular vote right? That more American voters voted like me than voted like you? Are we less American than Trump voters? Am I somehow less of an America than you? Do you need DAR numbers or something to prove my pedigree?

Why are you threatening me with your sense of being part of an emergent voting bloc? It seems to me that far too many posters are here seem to believe that reconciliation means one side submits to the abuse of the other.

That ain't happening.

We can have mutual respect or we can have no respect. I'd prefer the former. If you were offended by my use of Trumpkin in the title, I apologize, it wasn't my intention.

I already knew that the probably soon-to-be Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin was a Goldman Sachs plant, but him being also a good old buddy of our beloved friend of humanity George Soros was news to me. I guess both Soros and Goldman Sachs have their scummy fingers everywhere.
Color me surprised... not.

Pathetic is you following me around harping on me like I took your virginity and never called you back. I talk about politicians and it triggers you so hard you that you can't help yourself but to talk about me. I told you before:

You're insignicant and you've likely never said anything of consequence in your life.

Worse yet, you're f'ing boring. So put your panties back on and run along.
