I have not posted in this forum since the video with Billy Bush came out. I felt enraged, disenfranchised, disgusted, and to be honest, not a part of America. It does not feel good to feel that way.
I cast my vote for Donald Trump for many reasons. But one was forefront in my mind: I want to be part of America again. I want to be a citizen, not be considered a second-class citizen, a racist, a sexist, or anything else I am not. I am sure today that I was not as alone as I was beginning to feel.
I now thank you sincerely for this thread, for having the cajones to admit defeat gracefully. You regained some respect from me. I don't know if that matters to you, but it is the truth.
Rest assured, I will do what I have done since I watched the Reagan victory in 1980, but felt I could not do under Obama. I will make every effort to hold this President to his promises. I will speak out loudly when I believe he is in the wrong.
To everyone else here who may be mourning Clinton's loss: I hope we can once again become the shining star of civility and intelligent thought we once were. ATS is a special place for me, a home online I can come to in my times of need. It has been damaged. Let us rebuild and reunite. Antediluvian has lit the way; let us follow him.

So you are done with your propaganda for now? You did a hell of a job in the last weeks doing dirty laundry here.
Cheers*
But keep the alert status, you will need it.

I figured since I've been such an active participant in the Mud Pit over these recent months, it was only fitting that I posted this here.
Well you did it. I won't say I was quite as shocked as a lot of people appear to be but I was certainly surprised. I still maintain that Donald Trump is the greater of two evils but we the people have cast our votes and now its done.
I am above all else a proud son of our great nation and I believe that it is absolutely vital to the strength of our democracy that we accept the results of our elections regardless of any personal dismay. Furthermore, for the health of our society, I believe it is incumbent upon on us all to earnestly strive for reconcilation following such a polarizing contest.
I congratulate President-elect Trump but far more than that, I congratulate you his supporters. It's been an exceedingly long, exceptionally contentious election and at its end, you've won the day.
Enjoy your victory.

I tried being civil long ago with him, when it mattered, as did many here. He chose the road of a brute and simpleton.
He could make a thread talking about the threat to democracy being carried out by George Soros currently, trying to have us descend into riots nation wide.
In the fall of 2008 very few institutions or individuals were looking to go long on mortgages and mortgage-backed debt. Mnuchin was one. He soon persuaded others, including John Paulson, George Soros, and Chris Flowers. Together they purchased IndyMac, whose primary assets were $23.5 billion in commercial loans, mortgages, and mortgage-backed securities.
Did you mean the American voter and just mistyped?

And BTW - we are paying attention. And we are *not* going away.
And we *VOTE*.
Get used to it.
