So how come its forecast to reach us on the 8th?

3 days is a far cry from 8 minutes

Wow!

Coronal.
Mass.
Ejections.

Do NOT travel at the speed of light..

What the hell have the Kardashian, Kanye, Trump, Hillary, Fox, CNN, and Siri done to some of your minds?!

Then I expect to see fully over-cast skies on that day.

Anytime there's an interesting celestial event happening, the clouds move in to block my view. Meteor shows, fly-bys, aurora events, lunar eclipses, solar eclipses, etc.

Every.
Dang.
Time.

The cosmos hate me.

I am posting this here to head off the claims that any interruption of communications on Election Day is due to something nefarious. Spaceweather.com is a highly reliable source.

Or it's doctored data to provide a pretext for the looming interruptions...

Ooh, no kidding, smart thinking.

How would we ever know the difference? I wouldn't put such a thing past them that's for sure.

ETA: I guess the appearance of auroras would debunk that idea. That'll be cool to see so I hope something actually happens for once.

I don't know what you are trying to say. Light takes 8 minutes and 20 seconds to reach earth travelling at the speed of light, this CME is scheduled to arrive after 2-3 days, or 2880 minutes at the minimum, or about 300 times slower than the speed of light. When it get's here we will know how fast it is travelling. But your point is correct, CMEs do NOT travel at the speed of light.

He talks about it at in his morning update for November 7th below...
