Obama has again raised the bar for political discourse - speaking up for the right of protest on behalf of someone who started a noisy protest at one of Obama's speeches (though he needs to work on that double-negative stuff (grin)).

People began shouting as Obama repeatedly told the crowd to “hold up.”

“Everybody sit down and be quiet for a second,” Obama said.

“You’ve got an older gentleman who’s supporting his candidate,” he added. “He’s not doing nothing. You don’t have to worry about him.”

The man was escorted out - after all, people came to hear Obama, not to hear the protest.

THIS, to my mind is the way that this needs to be handled when dealing with a few lone protesters... not with the crowd turning into a frothing pack of hysterics. However, it's up to the one speaking to cue the crowd what to do.

double negatives ain't no thing when you're dealing with the dust bowl,
and running out of burrito coverings.

Should have never lied about the ACA. Biggest mistake of his political career. It costs him midterms and his legacy come Tuesday. That is how he will be remembered. A half black man who lied to Americans.

Here is some good Obama Video on Hillary

"Hillary Clinton will say anything to get elected. Now she's making false attacks against Barack Obama. The Washington Post says Clinton isn't telling the truth.

I am gonna miss the class that Obama brought to the circus. agree or disagree with his politics, the campaigns themselves were always respectful and just a clash of ideals verses a hatred of people.

Hillary is trying to mimic that, but it simply doesn't work with her. it seems calculating whereas Obama seemed genuine.
And Trump...well, telling people to punch protesters..yeah...

Cue the crowd? He barely kept control over it. That crowd was rabid and smelled blood. Obama probably did it to protect the old guy from getting roughed up or knocked out so it wouldn't look bad for TV.

I seriously hope this was hidden sarcasm.Every time he opens his mouth was some form of rude comment.

“You’ve got an older gentleman who’s supporting his candidate,” he added. “He’s not doing nothing. You don’t have to worry about him.”

Even that , in context can be considered just another rude , snarky set of comments when taken together.

Your politics blind you, he did keep control and kept the old guy from getting hurt. You are so blind with hatred that you cannot recognize that a black man helped someone else. This is why my country scares me.

Considering the bull feces that your candidate has uttered, I am amazed how you could even find that snarky?

I watched that and I agree about how he handled it.

It's also true he never should have had to do that and the crowds behavior was pretty bad. The crowd was ridiculous in how it responded to one old guy.

When both sides are behaving so badly, it's hard to be impressed with either. Both sides have driven their supporters to act like fanatics and both the candidates need to wear that.

I am not a supporter of either and will agree with this whole heartedly.

Obama knew that was a genuine protestor and not some paid operative that his sides community organizers employ over at Brown Shirt Hillary HQ .

I have to concede his moral point here...even though I detest the reason and justification for him climbing that podium in the first place. If Trump, whom I also detest, had had half as much decorum, this election might be totally different.

He showed real class here.

Both candidates could learn a thing or two.

Obama's anger was not about defending the protester.

He was shocked and appalled that his minions did not obey him when he demanded them to shut up and obey their master dictator.

What does the Affordable Healthcare Act have to do with the OP? What does Obama being half black have to do with the OP? Talk about derailment?

Who cares what his anger was about, he did the right thing. Hatred blinds us all, no matter what we might hate.
