All six RAF Sentry aircraft have been grounded due to wiring issues found recently. The RAF operates six aircraft, with two usually in heavy
maintenance and four available for operations.
As a result of the grounding other nations have stepped in to fly the missions that the UK Sentries would be flying. There's no word on when they'll
start flying again, but they're looking at several weeks.
During a routine maintenance check wiring under the floor was found to be arcing and old. In addition, it was found that the firefighting blankets
weren't fireproof.
