Just when you thought it was over!

MIDTOWN, New York -- Bitter presidential rivals Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have one more face-to-face showdown before Election Day. And they're supposed to make it funny.

The venue just 24 hours after their third and final debate is the annual Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner in New York, a white-tie gala that every four years becomes a showcase for presidential politics. Tradition dictates that the candidates deliver humorous remarks poking fun at each other and themselves, a jovial custom that seems hard to envision amid such an ugly campaign. Trump regularly calls Clinton, "Crooked Hillary," mocks her stamina and says he'd put her in jail if he wins the presidency. Clinton says he lives in his own reality, is running a "hateful, divisive campaign" and lacks the temperament to be president.

Here is a link to last one with Mitt Romney and Obama.

Should be interesting to watch Trump and Hillary tell jokes and make fun of themselves and one another. How ugly will it get? Can either candidate take a joke? Will either candidate redeem themselves? Can this event be a game changer?

Don't you just hate how pretentious and pompous all of this kind of stuff is?

People up and down the country are scraping together enough pennies to pay for their health care whilst the political elite attend a elitist party that could no doubt pay for building a new school or hospital.

Sickens me that crap like this goes on.

They should be ashamed

A guy who is actually funny, versus this lady who has just been proving to be great joke fodder.

I vote he rips on her doing the robot:

So, it will be just like the debates, without a moderator?

You said roast, and I thought you meant really grill each other over open flame!

I accuse you of being a prime tease.

This will be good and funny.

The past roasts were very good.

Obama and McCain were spot on. Both hilarious, but I actually liked McCain a bit more..McCain's comedic timing is impeccable.
Obama and Romney was pretty good also.

I suspect this is going to be terrible. Hillary's comedic timing is..basically non existant and seems forced, and Donald...I suspect he will just use the moment to do some awkward stump speech. He doesn't care much for tradition from what I gathered. Personally I think they need to just skip it this year..if they can be at a social event and not stab each other we can call that a win, no need to try humor. Maybe a nice game of chess...and hope Donald doesn't flip the board and demand it was rigged.

Tonight it'll be back to the back-slapping friends they've always been and it'll be the same after the election. Except she'll be President, and he'll be owner of a brand new right wing media empire.

Trump doesn't have the temperament for an event like this.

We may see a Trump melt down tonight.

The affair has begun. That's an vivid voice on that national anthem singer. Like an opera singer.

Actually, I do know one time Hillary was funny:

It would be great for Trump to call them out on those points you made in front of everyone.

These aren't even jokes, it is just the way Trump usually talks.

Except people are publicly laughing instead of just laughing in their heads...

Trump did get boo'd for the last 5 minutes of his speech.

I'd say that's because of his temperament.

I understand what you're saying, It's the first thing that occurred to me too, but it was a charity event that raised 6 million for poor people.

And while neither of them is likely to be confused with Johnny Carson, there were some funny moments and I think the overall affect was one of humanizing both Hillary and Donald. Which at this point is a good thing.

I would say that was because of the material.

I'd say his temperament demanded that material to be included.

He just can't help himself.

Ok, forge an argument of both of our accounts. I can live with that.

I wouldn't call it a breakdown by any means.

Rather I think it is because they are for the most part members of the inner elite and the upper establishment circle of New York, and Trump has been busy tearing down the house they have built with 2 political parties over many years. So, of course, they would boo the conclusion of Trump's remarks.
