AZ Republic: How do we respond to threats after our endorsement? This is how

This is an incredible piece written as a response to the intense vitriol the newspaper in question, The Arizona Republic (which had never before endorsed a Democrat in over a century), recieved from Trump supporters over their refusal to endorse Donald Trump.

There have been threats of violence and death, threats of sexual violence against female staffers. Allusions to the murder of a reporter working for the paper in the 70s. Students selling subscriptions door to door have been threatened and even spit on (which is assault).

The Arizona Republic's refusal to bow to the pressure from these disgusting people is truly admirable.

This is what your country has become. Truly making it great again

While I find it surprising that they endorsed Billary, I don't find it surprising that they handled it the way they did. Which is very top-drawer. The AZR has been through some things in 125 years, and between those and the fact that that they are in the business they are in, you don't last long if you don't handle things like this in a professional, thought-out manner.

They probably did, and to be fair, there hasn't been any actions as yet. They have done the right thing by getting this information out there quickly I feel.

I do find it interesting that the AZ REPUBLIC is trying to identify as a conservative paper. It has lost massive viewer ship in the last 12-16 years. I'm calling BS on them. I am sure that they have probably received threats... there are some nutty people out there, but I think this is just an attempt to pander to the left and what they think will hopefully bolster circulation.

Every hard copy newspaper has been losing subscribers over the last dozen years. It doesn't mean they are switching political allegiances just that people are moving to other sources (internet) for their news.
