welcome to another bizzare encounter with the unknowm

this time we have a encounter with a humanoid with a strange "tentacle hat" by a individual that oddly enough have mars in the name:

Mars Walker, a student at the University of Georgia, observed a vague, purple shape about 50 yards from the house. From it came a being with tentacle-like protrusions about the head and hands of three or four fingers. It had several odd objects that it wore on a belt, and appeared to take readings with them. The being completely ignored the witness during the 30-minute period. It was bathed in a green light from the UFO. Eventually it was “taken back into the vessel.”

Lots of extraterrestrials come to Earth to survey and research life here. I am not sure what the point is? We aren't the only planet in the entire universe with life on it.

Mabey we have something unique about us that other species don't. /shrug

There are too many unprovable theories about this type of thing to even touch on.

Good point. Unless we get a massive landing of starships on our doorstep to invite us to the cosmic club, I don't think we will see much of anything more than just random drawings and stories and shoddy video.

yourself have acidentally debunked the extraterrestrial hypothesys: "there are many planets with life on the universe"
so why is earth so special?

Who says we are? I'm sure there are other planets they can go to with equal amount of interest. A hypothesis would be we as humans are in a interesting developmental stage in our inginuity and some may find interest or the fact that we support so many different types of life with varying degrees of elevation and temperature and the natural resources we possess.

Who knows.

It's much better than just that.

I've always thought the earth (theoretically) would be a great project for an alien kid's entry in the high school science finals! If he received an "A+" maybe he could go on to figure out our problems and fix them. That would earn him college level entry...at 12. The only problem I could then see is that he'd see the plague of humans as the problem! And then...well, a good dosing from Orkin ("Orkus"?) would clear the matter right up.... Ah, one scenario anyway....

We are a zoo.

A lot of westerners like to go visit backwards humans as it is. And then marvel at the fact that they don't use fossil fuels and how great it is(its not).
Imagine Alien Dad, "Son, aren't you lucky you were born on Vulcan, imagine not having a warp drive, If you don't want your warp drive I'm sure some kid on earth would love it"
