Did the Mods go on vacation?

I'm not the really the ranting type, but I am seriously curious if the mods have gone on vacation or if they have just reached such a apathetic point they've thrown their hands in the air. If so, frankly I wouldn't blame them.

I've been seeing this build over the last few weeks of blatant ignoring of the TOS. Flat out profanity, flat out innuendos, flat out attacks and baiting.

Since this recent release of the "Trump" tape, it has reached a such a proportion that words almost fail me now.
Even thread drift has got be by the wayside.

This is not the ATS I signed up too and when I think back to some things we have lost good members over, this is almost a slap in the face.

For people to say this will pass when the election is over, I also consider a poor excuse. The TOS were put in place for a reason and not to fluctuate with the tides.

One can also say don't read the forum if it upsets me so. Well that's silly too. I come here to read the forums and hear what people think. If they can't express themselves within the guidelines of the TOS why am I the one to suffer?

I really don't think I am the only one here feeling like this.

I'm no angel and I owned a bar for years. Trust me, I have heard it all, but I heard it all in places that didn't have a TOS in place such as ATS has.

If I were to be playing a drinking game of how many times just the "kitty" word has been used to today, I would be in no condition to be typing this right now.

So, if we have reached this point, it would be nice to know. Unless I'm just suppose to go by the cliche' "Actions speak louder,or Lack of Action."

Anyone else kind of sad about this state of affairs the site has seemed to come too recently?

Me too, it's a real shame, really.
I think I've actually increased my whiskey intake.

Used to be just stuff about bigfoot and the occasional incoming asteroid.

Now it's like everyone in the world has a dial up or somethin

38 days, plus a few extra for the enormous 'OH MY GOD! How did we lose ... it was in the bag

Then things should get back to normal.

The Mods are still here, overworked perhaps, but still with us.

ATS is no longer my main site.
I come here only as I have friends here.

It wasn't too too long ago there wasn't any place on the internet as amazing as ATS.
It's my new news site, and I come to say my things in my "friends game threads"
but the main site itself is severely lacking..

It's amazing they ban trolls who say they saw an alien, but don't ban trolls who are obvious trolls about REAL LIFE matters.. That is worse than making up aliens, making up real life...

Sorry. I no longer feel loyal, so I have no vested interest in keeping this place alive.

I've been here since at least 2005, but I think 2000. but it's hard for me to tell the site in 2000 was Actually Top Secret. The stuff you saw and talked about back then..

I'm sticking around to watch the transformation into mainstream dim lightbulbs denying they are ignorant.. Deny Ignorance they say, and they do deny it.

Certain people only post their hit threads in the "Mudpit" which apparently has a higher tolerance of what is allowed. I have noticed that people that post there usually enjoy insulting their fellow members.

I've been a member since 2010. I am quite aware of the fact some commenters are also members.
It just seems that when I signed up there was a very high no tolerance policy. We lost some outstanding members because they walked that line and they lost.

I swear like a sailor in real life but I curb that when I come here out of respect for the rules.

I also don't think just because a forum is the mud pit it should give people the right to run their mouths willy-nilly with no respect for other members .

I would just really like to know why things have gone so lax as of late .

Look guys, this is the most insane election we have ever seen, it is affecting almost every aspect of our daily lives from the conversations we have at the office to who we're inviting to Thanksgiving this year .

I'd be more worried if ATS didn't feel the impact of this insanity.

If I recall correctly ATS should be back to "normal" by February.

Did the Mods go on vacation?

I'm sad that ATS has become All Trump Stories throughout this year , how many threads on him do we need ?
I'm also sad that I type more in my reply than some posters do in their OP and that personal attack seem to be tolerated more these days.

It may be a case of rose tinted specs but I can't help but feel we've lost something that was in abundance until recently ....Quality.

ATS is little more than a cesspool now. It's sad, but i do hope it improves following the election. Elections, especially this one, seem to stir people up a whole lot.

Its whatever members make it. Most of them want to pimp their favorite leaders and spit on the rest. They've made ATS in their own image so it's politics all day from here.

What are site mods meant to do? Can't ban stupid or frothy mouthed political koolaid guzzlers.

I saw the 'kitty' thread you are talking about. It was so offense and disgusting, it had been up for hours! Can't remember what forum it was in. Even if it was in the mud pit, that kind of talk is so disrespectful to the other members of ATS and, IMO, brings down the value of the site.

Didn't report it and probably should have, the mods can't be everywhere at once.

Can not wait until the election is over.
