But Trump's Syrian war will somehow be different to them. So it won't count. So I expect something like: "He's not screwing it up like Obama or Hillary, he's actually getting things done there!"

Nevermind that it'll be the same troops, same front line "advisers", and same weapons systems attacking the same cities & infrastructures and leaving the same victims and collateral damage. Since it will be Trump authorizing it instead of Hillary (without checking the intelligence briefings first), it'll be acceptable to them.
