So the Druids broke free from Christianity, they didnt like the idea of a caste system.. They must have had really harsh winters.. Since they switched back? The druid system like any other is based on ideals and fantasies, offer something real..

That was awesome and adds something new to the druid folklaw i never new so thanks for that.

I find druids to be very interesting people OP, shame their is not much known about them, soppose its the mystery that makes them that bit more appealing to the imagination

This blog might interest you. There is a lot of information here and the writer does a good job
supporting his claims with facts. Of course, when we are discussing events from antiquity, not everything
can be confirmed but this writer does pretty well.
I might look into member Kantzveldt's post to see what she may have written on the subject.
If you are not familiar, Kantzveldt is brilliant and writes on this sort of subject often.

Some have suggested that destroying the Druids was one of the reasons the Romans invaded Britain, although I think that securing the food supply from the fertile British farms was the main reason (the Romans had been trading peacefully with us for a long time before they invaded).

In any case, when the Romans attacked Anglesey, they effectively ended Druidism as a major force (although of course some individuals survived long after - including, perhaps, the character on whom Geoffrey of Monmouths "Merlin" was based)

I'd love to see what you found. The only connection that comes to mind between Venus and the Druids is that the Ash tree is a prominent symbol to Druids, as are several other trees.

However the Ash tree to them is considered "The Venus of the Woods."

I can never do this, concentrate on one subject and master it. I cannot even read one book at a time, usually I am reading at least three, because there is just so much out there that draws my attention in different directions.

In this short thread alone there has already surfaced Atlantis, Sufism, Merlin and Bigfoot. How can one ever devote all their time to one subject?
