Two Raceland teens arrested for wearing clown masks

The creepy clown phenomenon has found its way to Lafourche Parish, as the sheriff's office reports two Central Lafourche High School students were arrested for wearing clown masks.

According to the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office, Jordan Boudreaux and Taylor Defelice, both 17 and from Raceland, were charged after wearing a clown mask while riding around the high school.

Two teens, who would've thunk it!

These aren't the typical creepy clowns standing in the shadows, they are punks who were driving around school wearing a stupid mask (below), but I wager the majority of the creepy clowns are bored youths just following the latest trend.

They were both charged with one count of wearing a mask in public. Louisiana has a law that prohibits wearing a mask in public outside of certain holidays, maybe more States should adopt this law to help put an end to this ridiculous phenomenon.

Maybe someone should tell the people in the Mardi Gras parades about that law.

Maybe they should let kidsand teens be kids and teens.

I had cap guns, masks and all sorts, no one died, no one got hurt.

But you didn't have the internet or social media. Without them, creepy clown sightings would be a non-issue.

Clown sightings wouldn't be in the top 100 scariest things to happen in my life, social media or not.

Anyone who wants a law that bans masks for children are ignoring the fact that the world is FAR scarier place.

The way I understand the situation, the clown is the most likely one to get hurt.

If you equate wearing a mask with freedom, I suppose the quote applies.

What happened to the "good ole' days" when it was the teens who unmasked old creepy white dudes?

This generation, I tell ya.

Right, because limiting something for all individuals because a few people act like jackasses is obviously the way to go.

These people trying to creep people out in clown costumes are simply idiots having fun around Halloween and nothing more. Yes, some people have jumped on the bandwagon and started acting fools in the name of creepy clowns everywhere, but that's all it is.

I hate these bastards...I have a mask that I always wear around during the Halloween season, and now that these idiots are out and about, my wife doesn't want me wearing it. I'm still wearing it on Halloween, dammit.

Last 24 hrs in Michigan...7 or so attacks and robberies by clowns.

Interestingly? Its an additional charge if you rob someone while wearing a mask. So the weapon charge, the robbery/assault charge, and the mask wearing charge during the commission of a felony.

(In Michigan, mask wearing is a misdemeanor punishable by 90 days and $500 fine + mandatory automatic 2 yrs for use of a gun-if they do)

Yep, we need more meddling kids and their dog--apparently society as a whole can't figure out how to deal with a few people in masks.

It's actually pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

freedom freedom freedom oi!

Sounds like we've all got to start stocking up on masks and mask making materials before they're banned.

Pathetic.

As far as Im concerned, they ARE a non-issue.

Get over it folks. It's a CLOWN.

Move the f on.

This should not be a topic of conversation anywhere, let alone illegal.

Thank God the officers are protecting us from those little mask wearing bastards. That's much more important than really doing police work like getting drunk drivers off the street or investigating burglaries or arresting those jaywalking in front of everyone.

It's about time we got our priorities straight... cudo's LEOs

If it's just idiots having fun around Halloween, why don't we hear about superhero sightings, or vampire and zombie sightings etc? You know, popular costumes people actually wear on Halloween.
