It's insurance, his meager scraps of information = his sanctuary lodgings and lasting welcome. That is all he has currently.

His 'stuff' that's the 'Bomb' doesn't seem to be forthcoming .... at least nothing of consequence. Will we minimalize him now ? Before at least he was interesting.
