if Marla gave a copy of HER jointly filed return to the Times, that might tamp down any legal issue with the newspaper revealing it. Marla, the taxpayer, is free to make it public.

I lost 25k on a house I sold in 2015. Do I get ANY #ing tax credit for it? Yup....I got a measly 9k last year.

Get a better accountant or lawyer. If you operate at a loss...that loss can be written off or otherwise utilized as a deduction. Of course...that depends on the big picture. Keep in mind that businesses function differently and the rules may apply differently. But in short...if you lose money, you can deduct that loss the same as when you make money, you pay extra tax.

I did read your link, this from your link clearly states:

54.7% do pay income tax, that is a majority do pay income tax, but not Trump.

Many those not paying taxes make very little money. A bit of a difference between very low wage earners and a man making millions.

I think you're all nuts, you ahould all be aspiring to pay as little as possible, not that everyone else should have to pay at least as much as you do.

It's like saying "It's not fair, I'm in terrible pain with a broken leg while that athlete over there is running round just fine enjoying himself and he isn't in pain at all - he should have his leg broken so he's as badly off as I am".

Income tax is far too high, while you pay more and more and have less and less while you work harder and harder, the big corporations pay nothing.

Google, Amazon, Starbucks etc have been notorious for not contributing on huge sales in the UK for example, some huge businesses pay less in tax per year than the average worker, some pay nothing at all.

That's what needs addressing, the big tax breaks for "special" people, you know, like Hillary and Bill - how does a politician who earns a wage for serving the people end up being worth 100 million+ - where does that money come from?

How she has the gall to compare herself to "ordinary families like yours and mine" when talking about money boggles the mind.

Trump got his money through business - hard work and large risks - where did Clinton get her money from? What has she ever done to have so much cash?

She's a politician she is supposed to be there to serve, it seems like many others the only person she is serving is herself.
