Disturbing Video Shows Killing Of 6 Year Old By La. Police Officers

Two officers from Marksville, Louisiana have been charged with second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder charges, for killing 6 year old Jeremy Mardis and critically wounding his father, Christopher Few. This shooting occurred last November(2015) and the GRAPHIC video was released to the public this past Wednesday at their court hearing.

Defense attorneys for Stafford and Norris Greenhouse Jr. argue the deputies acted in self-defense. They claim Few drove recklessly while leading officers on a two-mile chase and then rammed into Greenhouse’s vehicle as he was exiting it, before he and Stafford opened fire.

The judge presiding the case wasn't buying it. The officer's body cam clearly shows the vehicle was already stopped and Christopher Few had his hands out the window.

While the video doesn’t capture the entire pursuit, state District Court Judge William Bennett noted that the footage doesn’t show Few’s car posing a threat to the officers as they fired. “That car was not being used as a deadly weapon at that time,” Bennett said. “I daresay it was not even close to being used as a deadly weapon at that time.”

Disturbing video shows the deadly end to a police chase in Louisiana, when a 6-year-old boy was killed. A judge allowed the release of the body camera video showing two deputy city marshals in Marksville opening fire on an SUV last November. The driver was wounded, but his autistic son in the passenger seat was killed. The marshals face murder charges at an upcoming trial.

Even when you comply and surrender after committing a criminal act, there's no guarantee that you won't be shot and killed. Also, this boy and his father WERE WHITE...why weren't there any protests regarding this incident?

I had wondered off and on if this video would ever be released.

I haven't checked on the story lately but recall there was speculation that one of the officers had a past relationship (of some sort) with the driver/father. In other words, it may have been some sort of revenge killing.

Sad sad situation and I am glad that it appears justice may be served in this case. At least justice appears to be being sought for the victims.

Now that their lies have surfaced, they are getting what they deserve.

Although, I will be interested in their sentence to see if it fits the crime.

Like Pheonix, I'll be very interested to see their sentence. It should be the same as anyone else, but I seriously doubt that will happen. They deserve to go to prison and be put in general population.
And yes, I know exactly what happens to cops in prison.

Aren't most of the protests in response to the killers getting off scot free, plus receiving bonus paid vacation time as a reward? This case looks as if they're actually being charged at least.

Plus, White people just don't seem as prone to protest en masse. I wish we were, but it seems overall, as a skin color group, we don't have quite the sense of community as Black people do. Nobody is stopping us, its a matter of choice.

as to your question, why didn't whites protest ? because whites accept the fact that the person was doing something stupid and not following the law. Should they or anyone else be killed ? I think not but we all know if you do stupid things like run you will probably get killed by a cop, that goes for all colors. That being said, cops do kill people without warrant sometimes..

imagine if there was no body cam footage... these thugs would be promoted by now and have fabricated an even bigger story against the victims.

Well said...that is precisely how I feel....don't put yourself in a position that jeopardizes the safety of others or yourself and things usually work out..act like an idiot and expect the worst..still can't imagine the kid probably crying during the entire ordeal...

The most obvious answer is because this officer involved shooting was investigated immediately and appropriately, resulting in charges within three days of the killing.

But the less obvious answer is because the true purpose of the protests is to further inflame racial tensions, further pit the people against each other, further the fighting/hating/blaming among the people.... Divide-and-conquer.

And I'm sure those folks are applauding your contribution to that cause, keeping the focus on race rather than out-of-control law enforcement and the corrupt system that protects them -- not the public -- while degrading our rights (and especially our right to life) to mere privileges granted at the whim of our masters.

Something tells me there is more to this story. One of the cops apparently knew the guy or had some sort of relationship with him. While entirely speculation, my hunch is that they cops were out to get this guy on some personal level. Maybe the cop was porking the guys ex or something. I think they intended to kill father in some sort of setup and they didn't realize the kid was in the car.

I'm not going to watch this video. It's a shame that a 6 year old died from this. But we are missing the entire point here folks. The father is the main one to blame here. He should be sentenced to death for threatening not only the officers lives but his own 6 year old son. It is #ing ridiculous that we don't see that none of this would have #ing happened if that piece of # dad would have just obeyed the laws to begin with.
That being said...yes the cops should be held accountable for their actions if they were not justified.
