Each one of us is effectively like Truman on the Truman Show (movie staring Jim Carry)

If "each one of us" (i.e., everyone) is like Truman, then who are the actors?

Hey, that's pretty good.
How about we're part of a synapse system? The Sun is the Axon; the photons are neurotransmitters (Creator's consciousness); all living creatures are the receptors and the Earth is the Dendrite which reconnects to another Axon to form an eternally continuous loop.
Sorry about drift and non-relevance to the Matrix.

Welcome to having Capgras' delusion! Thinking that the people around you are not real is a facet of being schizophrenic.

There was a fake reality show where they thought they were on an all expense paid vacation but the plane just flew in a circle for 8 hours, they were 2 miles away from home

We are the music makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers,
And sitting by desolate streams;—
World-losers and world-forsakers,
On whom the pale moon gleams:
Yet we are the movers and shakers
Of the world for ever, it seems.

I felt people around me weren't real once I just ignore it. It's way too uneasy and creepy of a thought to keep thinking

My ex-FIL turned me on to this.
www.goodreads.com...

He's an ex-NASA bigwig physicist. We had more than one whiskey fueled discussion so I heeded his advice. He was right.

Bought! As soon as I clear the decks of the current book, an old Vernor Vinge novel "Witling", I will read this one.

It's sort of along the lines of a series I can recall neither the name or author of. "Walking" between worlds. Mystlike.

I should add my second choice was this:

Or from another reality. Who are you to say?

"She measured to the hour its solitude.
She was the single artificer of the world
In which she sang. And when she sang, the sea,
Whatever self it had, became the self
That was her song, for she was the maker. Then we,
As we beheld her striding there alone,
Knew that there never was a world for her
Except the one she sang and, singing, made. "

Stevens is one of those guys that leaves me staring at the walls after reading. There ought to be either a story or a song with Order, but the only guy I know of that has set a Stevens poem to a tune, if indirectly, was Jimmy Buffett who sort of hid references to "The Emperor of Ice Cream" inside "The Wino and I Know".

Could you be recalling the Amber series by Zelazny?

I've tried to come up with a melody for The Green Hills of Earth to no credit. I'm no musician.

We rot in the mold of Venus...

I'm surprised no-one's done it. Surely LASFS has had someone set it to filk.

You can find all sorts of filk like this...

Check YouTube, there are several Green Hills variants, the top one sounds like Woody Guthrie.

I don't filk. I am no musician.
Nevertheless, I've tried. I went for minor chords (obviously). The rhythm is odd. Maybe Zimmerman could do it.
