Limited individual flags and stars

I think I came up with the solution. Make the number of flags and stars you can give time restricted.

If my brain can come up with it I only can hope an ATS staff member thought it as well

Why? You can only give one flag per thread and one star per comment. It's not like people are starring or flagging each OP or comment multiple times, so what's the problem?

To be blunt, you're coming off sounding like a control freak. Should we also have a limit on the number of posts we can make in a 24hr time period? As others have already noted, we're already limited to only 1 star per post and only 1 flag per thread. So what's the problem?

If this gets implemented...

Have you ever heard the term quality over quantity?

It is an initial idea that can be scaled based upon valid participation.

ATS owners are not going to implement something like this. No one gets to tell me who I can or can not agree with. If you limit the number of threads people can flag or the number of comments they can star, people will quickly lose interest in this site. It would be a form of censorship and the folks around here are not going to put up with that.

Ok, here we go

-ATS is a bastion of unbiased news once members get involved
-ATS holds standards
-ATS can and should be THE breaking news source (that's a personal opinion)
- ATS can filter out the trolls with simple algorithms.

That would imply there's even a value on stars. Only being able to flag a select number of threads also implies there's some value to them.

There really isn't.

And limiting number of posts? Get real. This site is alive because of user-generated content.
