I'd have likely raised a stink at the school, and to the local press, over something like that. Forcing people to purchase a computer is flat out wrong. The whole mentality of some people is just weird, to me. The constant social media use, the idea that it's "abnormal" to not have this or that account, the way some act as though government eavesdropping is acceptable, because they "aren't doing anything wrong", The addition of intrusive devices into homes. I hadn't even heard about a "smart meter"! Bad enough there are now "smart" refrigerators, monitoring what's inside, and what people eat.
