Keep on pushing puppy. You're great!!!

And youd probably be a good business owner because you are caring and insightful. Working for people like that is wonderful.

Why would I be a great business owner? I hate the business world and the corruption that undermines every aspect of it.

Good luck in your new job.

As a business owner that tries my best to be fair to my employees, my customers, clients, and everyone I associate with...

I feel mildly insulted to be lumped together with the corrupt of the business world you hate.

Why would you want to work for someone if that is what you believe? Wouldn't that be contributing to the "corruption"?

See your disconnect? It might be prudent not to mention your hatred of the business world while on the job. That is the reason for my wishing you
"Good Luck" I have a feeling you are going to need it!!

You misunderstand. To be a small business owner I am force to contend, along with my employees in a system designed to protect big business while harming small business.

Which will force me to have to make compromises I'm unwilling to make simply to get off the ground due to the roadblocks put in place by big business. It is simply not something I can deal with.

Too much sacrifice for too little for myself and my employees, while trying to compete in a system meant to make sure small business can never compete with big business. I'm not willing to undercut my employees pay because my neighbor Walmart can take a hit to undercut my just starting out ass thus putting me out of business.

I'm barely able to crawl out of the rock I'm currently in, trying to balance out trying to pay my employees what they deserve while competing with big businesses that can take a temporary hit to put their barely stable competition out of business is way more than I'm emotionally capable of handling.

You as a small business owner do not need to be corrupt yourself to have the corruption of the business world rape you and your employees.

Also as far as I'm concerned I'm working for my clients and their families. The company paying me is nothing more than the middleman I'm forced to deal with in-between jobs. I probably won't like the middle-men but I'm not doing it for them, I'm doing it for the clients.

Also I'll be being paid to help people in need. Not build stuff most people on the planet will never even be able to afford.

You sound like a socialist. And a Trump supporter; quite ironic imo.

I don't feel that I am being raped by the business world and my employees don't complain of being raped with my generous wages and benefits.

And I'm not apologizing for professional business sense, of marketing, manufacturing a product that almost sells itself and enjoying the abundant profits. I don't feel compromised in the least by following a valued American tradition of craftsmanship, entrepreneurship and hard work.

Forgive me, I guess I'll never understand the millinealist mind set.

I think the core of it is that you both greatly value your employees and their efforts. That's whats important.

Personally, i had issues with work since college because people have lied about me to get me fired, called me retarded, insane to my face among many other horrible personal attacks and attacks on my career.

You know what i think?

Forgive them for they know not what they do. Rings true.

I'm not a Trump supporter, but can we keep the election out of a thread about my depression. Also I am a bit of a socialist. If it were anybody but Hillary running there's no way I'd consider voting Trump, but let's drop the election talk there now that I've clarified that.

I worked for a small business owner. Good guy, couldn't pay much, only ever had 1 - 3 employees at most, but bent over backwards to help whenever we were in trouble. A very respectable person. The crazy taxes, and regulations he had to deal with were such would have been nothing to a big business owner, but drowns small businesses. He could have paid us more, had better equipment and better products, but I saw daily, while helping him on his computer system and more the crazy hoops he needed to jump through. As far as jobs went, working for him was probably one of the best I ever had.

Most of these crazy regulations are there to protect big businesses and are there for the same reasoning places are now telling kids they can't shovel snow without licenses, or people can't capture rainwater, or help feed the homeless. Big business is working to regulate us into slavery, and it's working.

Also there are exceptions to every rule. Not EVERY business in existence, not even big business, has refused to or failed to find ways to do right. But these are the exception rather than the rule, I'm not going to give the entire business world a pass or the benefit of the doubt simply because there are a very few diamonds in the rough. Is a generalization.

Addendum: Actually I'm technically a moderate in a lot of ways, as I recognize both policies on the left and right have been enacted in tandem to benefit big banks and big business to destroy we the little people. You might cry about socialism, and I might cry about capitalism, but the truth is, you've never seen true socialism, and I've never seen true capitalism, all either of us have seen is mutilated versions of both ideals usually combining the worst aspect of each other to the benefit of the few over the many.

I'm looking forward to this job, because may be the first time I have a job where I'll feel I'm making someone's life actually better, where even if it's only in their last days I'm doing something. That others will know their parents are getting the care and respect they need through my efforts.

THIS is exactly what the world needs more of, people like you!

Let's hope talk translates into action. Until I succeed I'm just a dog barking.

So let's not sing my praises yet. This puppy still needs to grow her big dog teeth.

Do you require a window seat or is that unnecessary? Want to make sure you're completely comfortable. Any allergy needs to account for? Dietary? Is steak and lobster acceptable or is shellfish an issue? Do you have a preferred alcoholic beverage?

See, now that's how a great host takes care of her guests.

I'm glad things are looking up. And be sure the lobster is from Maine. (I'm finicky like that)

Further update, I finally came out about my depression to my roommate and friend today about everything going on, thanking him for all his support and patience. He said he already knew and is fine helping deal with whatever is necessary.
