I might be reaching my breaking point tonight.

It's bad enough our walls are paper thin. It's understandable that our neighbors are going to be full to the brim of loud and nightly domestic arguments and babies across the hall that scream for hours. It's also understandable that there are a lot of people selling dope to make ends meet and have people coming and going at all hours.

I live here because my disability won't grant much else in the way of consideration or opportunity.

For the most part, I am quiet and I keep to myself.
If I listen to music I wear headphones.
I don't go out much and I don't party.

Tonight, due to the interest of our small town for Bikers, there is another constant wave of riders headed up the main strip one block East.

Constant throttles and accelerations in the fast food sound corridor.

Usually I like Bikers. We get along just fine.

But tonight, in addition to the fighting couple, the crying baby and the constant jabbering of the drug dealers around me, the outside courtyard is amplifying and projecting the auditory assault from the main thoroughfare directly into our large windows, which further amplifies and directs the sound outside right into the very overwhelmed ear canals of one exceedingly stressed out woman who is doing her absolute damnedest to keep her composure and not flip out.

Yes, I have earplugs.
Lived here twelve years.
Ya kinda have to have them.

Just had to rant and relieve some of the pressure cooking in my head.

Meh.

I ride but still don't get the loud exhaust. Annoying and why people hate bikers sometimes. It is like the douche's with loud car stereos.

Oddly enough, the douches with the loud car stereos are being quiet tonight.

Harley-Davidsons should be banned as health hazards. They are WAY too loud.

In West Lebanon, NH, the loud Exhaust is 1 thing I've learned to get used to, but it does bug the hell out of me. It sounds like you are right in the hot zone of it, sorry you're having to deal with all that commotion in your own residence.

I sleep with 2 fans AND an AC on (even when it's cooler outside) to try to keep me distracted with the white noise - doesn't increase my electric bill too significantly maybe 15% or so. Well worth it for me anyway

Sorry. I know it is aggravating as all hell, but loud pipes do save lives. It isn't a myth. They are way more likely to be in a blind spot than a large vehicle. You know they're there when you can hear them though. While I do get your gripe just understand not everyone has them to be a douche or show off.

I feel your pain. I have lived next door to the noisiest neighbors imaginable. It was a townhouse where the people next door changed every year or so.

Had every kind from drug dealers arguing at 3AM, domestic abusers that yelled and crashed walls, tantrum teens that slam doors, and guy who sucked at guitar but still had to blast the amp.

In September we get bikers flocking here. They are the most dishbag people to share the road with.

Heya NB, I hear ya.

We've been here twelve years and this is only the newest crop of tenants to pass through.

It's actually improving in some areas, but I would do just about anything to be able to move.

Funny thing, most of these younger kids are on welfare, they can afford the cars and to save up for a house within a year.

If only I have the foresight to be a F___ Up and just have babies instead of being saddled with a mental illness.

I understand the Bikers are good people and just having a bit of fun, but I suppose the real underlying rant is that I can't do a damn thing to improve my situation any, and believe me I've tried.

Just stressed out.
Feeling better talking about it though.

Try not to get so down my friend.

In my experience, no matter where you live, your neighbors will most definitely ruin it for you. Aside from the noise-makers, I have also had neighbors that robbed us, stole our gas from vehicles, ran a meth outlet, tossed dead mice into our yard. (Surprisingly, these were all different people in different places!)

ugh.

Sounds awful (pardon the pun.) I live on a quiet street (front of house) and a 'busy' street (2 lanes each direction, 45 mph) behind the backyard.

Especially in the summertime, newborns wake up screaming several times a day, shocked awake in terror by disrespectful scumbags who choose to modify the factory exhaust to increase the sound levels, not just on motorcycles, but on really, REALLY slow cars which they consider "Rally Cars" - apparently "Rally" has come to mean 130 or less horsepower, suspension purposely ruined, extremely loud exhaust, and getting regularly smoked off the line by bone-stock 2001 Toyota Corollas.

Remember, Loud Pipes don't save lives, they just wake babies and old people and sound annoying, but riders like the way the vibrations make their bums feel inside.

Thanks for the better perspective.

Noise outside has died down, so I guess their all headed back to their Hotel Rooms.

"Hardcore Biker Outlaws" have a nice suite at the Holiday Inn.

When they come here, they just stab each other outside of the casinos. Not even joking. Happens every year.

none of my neighbors are crazy with parties and # but they all do loud annoying things that bother me.

you think i like hearing their 3 kids with all their friends yelling and screaming when they are on their trampoline?

Oh yeah, neighbors can be a nightmare!

Where I live I have old dude across the hall who sticks his poor cat
I'm the hall late at nigt so it will pee there instead of his place; I've come home from the
Drive-ins a couple of times at about 1:30am to find the poor kitty out there alone. I always knock and let him know the
Cats out there, to which he claims, he didn't know the cat was out there. Which we both know is bull#. I never complain cause I like the cat, and it's all the guy has.

I used to have people to my right who not only looked like
They had 15 people living in their place, they smoke pot on the deck,
And would come out there naked. still having babies, I slept on my couch after they had their last
Baby because it would cry for hours at night. My poor son would be exhausted in the morning. They moved finally, praise Jesus!

I notice they all drive nice cars, but no one seems to have a job. Where I live, there are some
Section 8rs.

Screaming babies, leave clothes in dryers for days, don't think half of them even use detergent. I go to a laundromat now. Which costs double but whatever.

My son was attacked by a couple of them when I first moved here;
but I let them know I was NOT having it; and now he is trained in MMA.

My car has been vandalized on a few occassions, so I started taking pictures and videos and
Sent to mgmt and miraculously it stopped.

Bikers don't bother me, just the smelly, dirty, irresponsible, malicious types types of neighbors.

I'll trade you cat dude, and pigtails for your bikers
. Yes, I have nicknames for a few of them, because it's funny!

If you have housing, can you ask for a transfer?

You're quite correct. I'm always quite careful around bikers when I'm on the highway. But in the city, its easy for them to get lost in the blind spot. The "noise" has helped me quite a bit in safely avoiding collisions.

Youre mentally ill to the point of disability?

You seem pretty lucid to me.

Wife too eh?

No way to combine forces to improve your financial situation and move somewhere more peaceful?
