Nobody on the left made up the word, it was actually those in the movement itself who considered themselves as alternative to the convetional Right. It's literally an abbreviated form of Alternative Right. You ought not call people puppets as you're showing your ignorance.

When I was a teenager I went through a hardcore communist phase, a reactionary fascist-monarchist phase, a humanist hippie phase, then an anarchist phase. Admittedly I was somewhat of a weird teenager, but all of my "phases" were just juvenile ideations that had nothing to do with philosophy or logic. Like any dumb kid I was only concerned with image and superficial emotional appeal. I.e. I thought they looked cool, had a cool image, and spoke cool anti-conformist sh*t. Of course I knew little to nothing about the actual principles of the ideologies I "supported."

Like any reasonable person I grew out of all the ridiculous political phases upon realizing none of them actually translated into reality or applied at all to my own experiences. I still hang on to certain anarchist/reactionary tendencies, but (I like to think) my ideology now is a lot more nuanced and open-ended.

What I mean to say is that most kids taken in by this stuff will grow out of it, provided they're not complete idiots. If they really are dull and sheepish enough to hang on to their childish extremism, then there's nothing for it anyway. They would merely have latched on to some other preposterous ideology (SJWs, anyone?).

I didn't say anything about arresting anyone for it or taking away free speech. It's not illegal to hand out flyers nor should it be. Nazi propaganda is free speech as much as it disgusts me. You're trying to make this discussion an argument about other things. It's important for parents to be made aware since ten year old kids don't have the greatest judgement yet should be let off a little bit from constant supervision.

Depends on the parenting... My kids, aged 8 to 14, and are quite aware of such things and have been taught, and continue to be taught to think for themselves, be leaders instead of followers, and always come to me if they question something. They understand that swastikas and Nazis are bad, Confederate Flags aren't racist, and Hillary is the worst choice for this country.
