From the initial looks of it, CBS News and the Senate Minority Leader’s
appearance on the Today Show seemed a wonderful one-two punch of
soft-pedaling and water bearer tactics. I expected no less.

If the lamestream news pursued any of this email issue approaching the
same zeal, transparency and balance as a superficially inflammatory Trump
statement, the email scandal would have been over before the primaries
started.
You might forgive me for not directly quoting Ms. Pelosi at the minute;
because I was experiencing a bad taste seeing her on camera. Moreover,
I haven't heard anything new from her since Reagan was Governor.
Besides, CBS has crafted no fluff bolster as of the OP.

September 5, 2016, 8:05 AM
After a seven-week recess, Congressional lawmakers return to
Washington Tuesday to tackle stalemates (and partisan fights)
that have been on hold for the summer. House Minority Leader
Nancy Pelosi joins "CBS This Morning" to offer a preview of
what Congress will be doing in the weeks before Election Day.

And in a slightly meatier croissant, the Washinton Examiner quoted
from her news conference last Thursday:

"I have a concern that this isn't really about emails; it's
about a partisan investigation by a select committee
that has spent millions of dollars, produced nothing.
"I think we're going to just see an ongoing investi-
gation of Hillary Clinton," the Californian Democrat
added, "whether it's her emails, or it's her hair or
whatever it happens to be."

My end of the stick?
Fair and balanced? What about this Nancy: just from one of your previous
proposals promoting historical unilateral fairness by the government ,
if I may paraphrase--
”We’ll just have to bust open the foundation to see what’s in it.”

Of course, with the obvious partisan posturing in this pathological
puppy of an election cycle-- I would expect Nancy to say that ...right
after somebody proves to me with hard, repeatable DNA data that
Bowie and Icke were twins separated at birth by ETs. And the former
David was raised by Luton lounge lizards.

Instead: Let the chips fall into nowhere but the bucket we dictate;
so we progressives can sort it out before anything incriminating
surfaces about our goddess. This year, chips fall UP.

This multi-pronged coverup (and it is no less by simply obvious guilty de-
meanor on the part of everyone involved but the Capitol Janitor’s staff)
must be for a scandal that could dwarf 9/11 in scope for just the
government’s direct mitts steering every blurb about it.

I’d be grateful at this point if I was wrong, but fear for us all if by some
chance a fraction of the spin/ allegations are true. What do you think
of this 9/11 being so special we'll have no response, ATS?

What did you expect from the dim-bulb who said they needed to pass a bill so they could find out what was in it?

I could only hope for a retirement announcement so she
could join Harry Reid out in pasture. There's a visual...
Now add a box of some genuine first-press Chianti from
the Napa nether regions and roll tape.

If the thread tanks Augie, thanks for coming anyway.
It's lonely at the bottom sometimes..

All Democrat candidates are in dire straights right now.

With all the recent government reports and the FBI releasing their Hillary investigation "notes", it seems the DNC/Clinton Campaign can't say anything without lying again.

Pelosi and VP candidate Kaine especially are on the lie wagon more than ever since Friday.

All public Democrats are expected to scapegoat themselves for the cause.

It's what they do.

With the distinction drawn and usually noticed between a
little humble self-effacing and real smokescreening-- the pile
on of political kamikazes are starting to look pretty big since
the convention.. especially after the public barbecue of the
party chairman. I never heard of that happening while the
frenzy was actually in progress... but I've got a pretty short
memory lately. Oh yeah, I took my thyroid pill and still have a
pulse, damn it. I must probably be destined to live just long
enough to see Hil get sworn out by Roberts.
I can't determine what the overstrike semaphore is-- but you
get the idea...

Its best to link to external content, that way everyone can see for themselves what was actually said.

The thread title:

Pelosi: “Too Much is Being Made of” Clinton Email Investigation

...Is apparently not what she said:

"I think we're going to just see an ongoing investi-
gation of Hillary Clinton," the Californian Democrat
added,

What she did was suggest to everyone it will go on until the election, so there will be no resolution. Afterwards, who cares, she's either in or out.

And as I also linked to that Wash Examiner quote of her
second statement--

UPDATE from the CBS News Website:

Pelosi was asked by CBS News’ Josh Elliott whether
Americans should be concerned that Clinton said she
didn’t know what the markings meant.

“I think they shouldn’t be that concerned,” she said
on “CBS This Morning.” “I think that the secretary of
state deals with a large number of issues --
30,000 emails -- we’re talking about a few that may
have been marked ‘confidential.’ ‘Classified...’ and
‘secret’ and ‘highly sensitive’ is where it becomes
more problematic.”

“The fact is that whatever it was that Hillary Clinton
dealt with in that manner had no threat to our security,”
Pelosi continued, “and I think that too much has been
made of this.”
emphasis by OP
The attention being paid to the issue, she called “a
distraction” from Congress’ unfinished business.

I fully agree, when she gets in it is indeed true Nancy's
opinion of the investigation dragging until the election
is a moot point. After she gets in, the investigation will
end for fear of legislators getting Lincolned by the army
instead of merely Arkencided.

PS: Only on a lark, maybe the 'unfinished business' by
Congress could include acting on Comey's lead of not
recommending pursuit by DOJ... instead of obviously
inferring "If everybody shuts up, nobody gets exposed."

But that's some grasping at a last straw before our back breaks.

I think it would be wonderful to see her jailed and The Clinton Foundation emptied out ... maybe pay off a couple of the IOUs Paul Ryan left in the Social Security hope chest.

Thing is like any mob boss she didn't actually get her hands dirty and her off shore accounts are untouchable. Might as well try and arrest Al Capone.

Your original disputed article..
www.cbsnews.com...

And the mirror from the Washington Examiner:
www.washingtonexaminer.com...

It being in the Rant forum, I didn't think to include links. But
technically you had a good point; although we started here
at ATS about two hours before the MSM coffee kicked in.
It's almost like I need to inspect my sandals lately...
yup that BS is all over 'em just like always.

Really can't stand this woman. Now *there's* someone with incipient Parkinson's.

She's made millions while being a member of Congress, maybe she'd like to reimburse the Treasury for all the costs of her good buddy's investigations?
