Here's a possible explanation to the mysterious question about who and how the "Trump Wall" will be paid for.

Just get the money from the drug cartels through confiscation !!

Seems to suggest the U.S. and Mexico seize assets and share the "risks".

Exclusive: Trump Camp Mulls Using Seized Cartel Assets to Pay for Wall

Joint effort eyed to combat flow of drugs, guns and people would be a 'win-win' for both Mexico and U.S.

To fund construction of a new U.S. border wall, Donald Trump and senior advisers are considering various ideas, including the use of assets seized from drug cartels and others in the illicit drug trade.

As the debate over who will pay for the wall dominates the discussion on cable news, sources involved in the pre-planning of the GOP nominee’s Mexico trip told LifeZette the Trump camp is looking for innovative ways to pay for the construction of the border wall that both countries can support. Sensitivities in Mexico regarding Trump’s visit, and specifically paying for the border wall, are running high.

“For decades, the illicit drug and arms trade has endangered and destroyed the lives of countless Mexicans and Americans”

A senior Trump policy advisor stressed the proposal was just one of several funding options being discussed and said the idea was not raised during Trump’s meeting with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto.

The McTrump camp must of just hired Hank, the DEA agent from breaking bad...a solution right out the season 7....
Make as much sense as building a wall.
Cheers

You're talking about millions of dollars seized from drug cartels and operations. The wall will cost billions.

Where will the rest come from?

Trump's wall is estimated to cost about $25 billion by sane people (more than double his own estimate though it's Trump so maybe he's thinking about using undocumented Polish workers and then not paying them). The RAND Corp estimates the total US illegal drug market at $100 billion annually. That includes all illegal drugs from all sources.

Let's just pretend for the sake of argument that $50 billion worth of drugs comes through Mexico a year retail. What's that translate to wholesale? How much of that is confiscated in raids yearly? Tens of millions?

How much of these drugs are being smoked by the Trump campaign?

Only 25 billion hmm? Easy to cut some worthless crap out of the defence budget to get that. Start with the overseas bases.

From the magic money fairy. This is the same fairy that will pay for all the other hair-brained schemes Trump cooks up.

This is a good idea, however, I would rather see these assets used for treatment programs to help mitigate the damage caused by the cartels to people addicted to their product.

Walls gonna cost $Billions?
No problem, the big banks launder all that and more every year for the cartels, so get it from them!

Sure this idea will also run afoul of the CIA and their smuggling operations too.

Money fairy?

Is that where Obama got the ten trillion dollars from?

The national debt has doubled from 10 trillion to 20 trillion under his watch.

So he is going to used seized money and assets...seized in the United States, to pay for the wall.

How is this "Mexico paying for the wall"?

Also, a large majority of these "seized assets" are drugs, which they put a monetary value on...but exactly how are they going to turn those drugs into cash to pay for the wall?

That's actually a very good idea.

Its all so totally irevelant, whats the wall for? the American economy relies on cheap mexican labour, to do the agriculural work that would be uneconomic without it. Pizzas are being delivered by drones anyone can buy, so trying to stop drugs from south of the border entering anywhere is now ridiculous and a waste of assets. The facts suggest a total long overdue rethink.

This sounds like a great idea.

Its a righteous cause too. Something that would be beneficial to both Mexico and America, and well humanity as a whole. Something should be done about the cartel, they're as bad as Isis. The drug war should be shut down completely.

Didn't Obama spend a trillion dollars on what exactly? What's so bad about trumps idea?

The national debt has doubled from 10 trillion to 20 trillion under his watch.

And when you actually learn enough about the debt then you will see it was hardly his policies that increased the debt so much.

Do like Reagan did and have the CIA sell it to street gangs here in the states.

Civil forfeiture is big business, about $3 billion is seized annually and it's split 50/50 with the feds. That would mean about $1.5 billion in revenue comes in annually from drug busting the cartels (and occasionally shaking down US citizens on the highway). It would actually be enough to pay for the wall, the question is one of a conflict of interest.

This money would mostly be coming from seized US accounts in drug busts... a far cry from Trumps solution of making Mexico pay for it. There is also a well documented list of abuses stemming from civil forfeiture already. Do we really want to give the government yet another excuse to use it as a revenue source?
