need help translating bullet proof vest rating written in arabic.

So I came across a bullet proof vest at work that I was told that I could take by the supervizor on site. I cant read it since its in arabic.

Doesn't Google have an app where you take a picture and it translates the words for you?

I think the more pertinent question is: what was it doing at your work,and then why is the writing in arabic ? Those are 2 huge flags for me.

If it's a soft vest, I'd bet it's rated for hand gun calibers only. It's probably instructions or the rating of the vest, what it's made from, etc....

I can't read it, but in my experience:

Unless you have SAPI Plates for it, it's most likely only rated up to 9mm.

A fat bladed knife like a K-BAR will probably not pierce it, but a slim bladed knife like a bench-made auto-opener will penetrate.

I asked several employees, they said sure keep it or toss it. So I kept it.

They probably do give us our own stuff, I just dont know if we get to have something issued to us individually, or we share one when not on base.

I would rather have my own.

Character recognition programs comes in handy for lots of stuff in a multilingual world.

Remember that is read from Right to Left... It is a "medium" in size and something to do with a sharp pointed tool. I'd opine that this is penetrable w/an Awl or similar type weapon.

This particular vest is a police issue vest meant to stop everything up to .454 casull.

The Arabic writing will have manufacturer info, licensing info, where the vest is going, and what organization will be using it. Stuff like this is tightly controlled in Saudi Arabia.

Not sure that's where it came from as it could just as easily be Yemenese or Jordanian police issue.
