At this stage Russia can hand Assange anything they like, true or not, for leaking. He has no way to verify.

Oh #, we've got a WikiLeaks staffer over here...

How do you know WikiLeaks lacks the capabilities to verify information passed to them? Unless you are, which is unlikely, involved with WikiLeaks proper?

Here is the issue..

Assange is effectively working with and courting Russia now.

Evidence?

Don't give me that spiel that Assange had a show on RT (which was actually an independent production which had its licenses sold to many media outlets, RT being one of them), or that Assange intended to target Russia but backed out after being threatened (he actually clarified to Forbes that the media was incorrect to say that WikiLeaks was going to put particular emphasis on Russia).

He wants out of his cubby-hole prison in the Ecuadorian embassy in London and Russia has already given Snowden a safe refuge. They are his best hope.

No question he does, but what can Russia do to help him when he is currently wanted in Britain (for jumping bail), Sweden (for allegations of rape) and the US (for investigations of espionage and conspiracy)? He can't exactly waltz his way out of the Ecuadorian Embassy, even with Russian assistance.

As for Snowden, WikiLeaks assisted him by applying for asylum in 23 different countries. Russia accepted, and that's where Snowden was stranded.

Meanwhile his last leak of the DNC Emails, which was poorly screened and edited before release...was clearly and indisputably given to him by Russian Intelligence Hackers.

Poorly screened and edited? Can you provide any insights into this?

James Clapper, the Director of US National Intelligence, said that there was a lot of media hyperventilation and that the US government was not ready to, or could not, say, who was behind the hack. Besides, there have been many hacks of the DNC and RNC.

That is not a political assessment...non-partisan, independent hackers and security firms have dug into the leaked material and literally found Russian Intelligence signatures on the docs that Russian Intelligence forgot to edit out before handing over to Assange.

Even if this is true, the hacks remain a separate aspect to the publishing, until you or anyone else can prove there is a connection greater than individuals leaking material to WikiLeaks. What you, and the media, are trying to do is conflate the entire incident and trying to deflect the heat on the DNC by making WikiLeaks the story.

Which leads us to the next leak...

Democrats' new warning: Leaks could include Russian lies

Last month, a bipartisan group of 32 national security experts at the Aspen Institute Homeland Security Group warned of a specific type of fakery following the DNC hack, arguing that the suspected Russian hackers who struck the DNC and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee could “salt the files they release with plausible forgeries.”

www.politico.com...

NOW...Of course anti-Hilary folks will say that is BS and the upcoming leaks are fully accurate if they scuttle her chances as an "October Surprise". And it's possible that the leaks will contain fabrications...or it's possible they will be true...

Key word... 'could' ...This is just speculation. WikiLeaks, thus far, has a perfect track record when it comes to publishing correct information. Could this be tarnished by planted fakes? Sure, however it appears that the bulk of the material has already been released to WikiLeaks. Not to mention the fact that if Russia was really behind the hacks, it would make no sense to potentially damage the reputation of WikiLeaks and the leaked information by spiking it with false documents. That would throw the entire database into suspicion.

BUT...as far as the idea that the FBI and Justice can fully verify the leaks are not fabricated in parts? In time for the election? That won't happen. That is a huge undertaking to chase down the origin of the leaks and subpoena other peoples email records and review it all to make sure it is accurate.

So logically the timeline will not afford for verification of the leaks and verification will be absolutely a pre-requisite for any charges or indictment....more so when working with evidence provided by Russian Hackers aimed at messing with a US election.

Best case that Hillary haters can hope for is very bad headlines, but no..logically the timeline will not afford for any charges or indictments. The FBI wont be able to prove or disprove the content of the leak quickly enough given the nature and origin.

True...

Of course, it's the Russians.

Are you not tired of blaming the evil communists for the 60 years?

6 days or 60 years...who cares? If the evidence said it was hackers from Denmark, that would be the evidence.

As it stands, the hackers forgot to edit out signatures clearly attributed to Russian Intelligence.

An independent hacker found the signatures in the raw wiki-leak files and other hackers followed the lead and confirmed, plus independent security analysts and firms.

I get that you want to defend Russia, but the facts and evidence are facts and evidence.

Crowdstrike, a firm that analyzes threats to network security, revealed that the DNC had called it in to inspect the party’s servers, where it found “two separate Russian intelligence-affiliated adversaries present in the DNC network.” Crowdstrike released a comprehensive report of its findings on June 14

www.wired.com...

The following week, two cybersecurity firms, Fidelis Cybersecurity and Mandiant, independently corroborated Crowdstrike’s assessment that Russian hackers infiltrated DNC networks,

www.wired.com...

But some of the most compelling evidence linking the DNC breach to Russia was found at the beginning of July by Thomas Rid, a professor at King’s College in London, who discovered an identical command-and-control address hardcoded into the DNC malware that was also found on malware used to hack the German Parliament in 2015. According to German security officials, the malware originated from Russian military intelligence. An identical SSL certificate was also found in both breaches.

Ahh so that's the strategy to protect Clinton. Plausible deniability. "They "might" be Russian lies, so kindly ignore please."

Again...those are the facts.
Whether or not the next leak contains fabricated content...that will need to be verified by FBI or Justice before any charges.
Yes, it is and will be politically convenient for the Clinton campaign to claim the leak is fabricated.
Yes, it is entirely plausible the content will be fabricated by Russian Intelligence.
It is also plausible it will be fully accurate.
BUT the truthfulness will not be able to be determined by the FBI or public before the election if the leak occurs right before debates or voting.

Which leads me to ask the question...If it is so damning, why doesn't Assange release it now? So that the Public and FBI has time to investigate and verify?

The obvious answer to me is that the Russian Hackers have refused to give Assange everything, or made him promise to wait, in order to have maximum headline impact plus minimum verification.

No offense...but I am offering logic...your post is offering empty snark.

Claiming something is not real is not much of a defence when there is no evidence to support any 'salting' of documents. This claim of 'salting' documents is part of the DNC's comspiracy theory which they only made up AFTER they had to force their chair to resign and have since seen 4 more resignations. They must be panicking and trying to find any way out possible including bare faced denial of their own documents.

This suggests to me what is coming from wikileaks is big.

Well if Wikileaks actually does review their releases then they are evil..

Like here where he released voting records and addresses, numbers and names of a million women in Turkey...

However, WikiLeaks also posted links on social media to its millions of followers via multiple channels to a set of leaked massive databases containing sensitive and private information of millions of ordinary people, including a special database of almost all adult women in Turkey.

Yes — this “leak” actually contains spreadsheets of private, sensitive information of what appears to be every female voter in 79 out of 81 provinces in Turkey, including their home addresses and other private information, sometimes including their cellphone numbers. If these women are members of Erdogan’s ruling Justice and Development Party (known as the AKP), the dumped files also contain their Turkish citizenship ID, which increases the risk to them as the ID is used in practicing a range of basic rights and accessing services. The Istanbul file alone contains more than a million women’s private information,

Yet another file contains the full names, citizenship IDs and cellphone numbers of hundreds of thousands of AKP election monitors — the most active members of the party.

www.huffingtonpost.com...

WHY release personal information for all the women that voted for the AKP? The AKP is a pro-western political movement in Turkey..anti-russian..

And during the Coup and political instability their Assange effectively identified pro AKP men and women for targeting.

If the Coup had been successful in Turkey ousting the Pro-Western government...Assange gave them a complet list of who to round up post coup...men, women, home addresses etc.

He works for Putin.

Your guessing and trying to pass off guesses as facts.
Can you provide any evidence that Assange works for Putin or that documents are being changed in order to bring down the US election process?

At this stage we do not know who Assange's sources are for the various leaks published. Whilst there are media claims of a conspiracy theory involving Russia there are also counter claims. The problem is you go to left leaning sources and they say "Russian hack", you go to right leaning sources and they say "not Russian hack".

As far as Turkey is concerned, if the AKP list was for a post coup round up, I would think it more likely that the AKP list would be handed to Russia intelligence and on to those participating in the coup instead of publishing it on the internet!

No one has any leaked emails from her private server. Wiki has DNC emails.
These "journalists" can't even get that right.
What a load of crap.
Come on you guys you can do better.
Any private server emails are the ones that have been released through legal channels.

Excellent... you admit that she had a private server... therefore you must realize that she did not have a commercial email account like Powell and is a liar when she says he told her to do it.

You are coming along nicely... you will be a Trump voter yet.

Your claim that the conspiracy theory is true according to the 'entire tech community' is false.
You believe the people who are telling you this because 'they say so'.

The 'evidence' linking Russia is largely based on malware code and data that is similar to other code attributed to APT malware associated to GRU. When challenged by Guccifer 2.0, the best Crowdstrike could come up was that he was likely part of another conspiracy even though he proved he was the hacker with more examples. Have you actually seen the code sets of the similar malware they are referring to? Have you actually seen any evidence beyond media reports?

Even if it turns out to be the Russians, that doesn't change what was said, unless we then have to buy another conspiracy to 'salt' up the documents, despite people admitting what they did, apologising for it and resigning.

Like I said, you have read some media reports from one side and not looked at the other. You are going to believe whatever offers Clinton some kind of deflection no matter what it seems. The Irsaeli Intelligence service have already said it would be impossible for CrowdStrike to determine so quickly the source. They lied - and why would they? Well they happen to be the cyber security firm for the DNC. It was their impossibly rushed malware evidence that was then pushed around a few other cyber security experts for validation, but there is no proof what they actually asked for comparisons on was legitimate.

Finally, the problem for Clinton is that the source is less important than the content and admissions have been offered with apologies and resignations from the last dump

At this stage Russia can hand Assange anything they like, true or not, for leaking. He has no way to verify.

How do you know WikiLeaks lacks the capabilities to verify information passed to them? Unless you are, which is unlikely, involved with WikiLeaks proper?

No...security firms, analysts, independent hackers and the German government itself have found clear and indisputable signatures of Russian Intelligence in the leaked material. Not "left" media...But yes...Pro Trump/Russian outlets are selling that it was not Russia with "cuz we say so" evidence.

Honestly...the level of dishonesty you need to employ to dismiss the entire tech community as "left wing media" is kind of gross.

Except that it not the entire tech community - it's some, with others calling it BS.

www.globalresearch.ca...
I can link other sources, including a study on methodology which covers the fact that attribution is no more than guesswork.

Please do...cuz that source you provide is utter BS...and links to an article that doesn't exist..

The last article "Global Research" released claimed that Zika in Brazil was a result of vaccinations not Mosquitoes.

Of course, all articles that don't fit your narrative are 'utter bull#' in your mind. That just confirms my point that you just take in the sources that agree with your political persuasion and then try to state them as facts. By the way, the links work from that site. The same story is easily searchable so you can see several sources.

I am going to assume you know very little about malware or hacking.
Once the investigation is complete we may know more, but right now there is no conclusion and to suggest otherwise is BS.
