Bats can swim?!!

I came across this video today on youtube. Apparently bats can swim.




I'm staying the hell out of the water now! Only clear pools for me

Very interesting. We have A LOT of bats where I am from, and a large river, and I have never seen this. I wonder if it went swimming intentionally or just kind of fell in and was trying to get out.

Bats are mammals. All mammals can swim. Don't under estimate the mammal kingdom since Whales. As for Insects good luck. We mammals have unfinished business to do. Conquering the seas. Why are people siding with the sharks? Side with the whales god dammit!

It DOES look like it's been doing that for generations or eons, doesn't it. It looked soooo natural.

I bet those wings/flaps really help.

Zebraman is impressed.

I live near Humber Valley therefore I have tons of animals. I used to see bats near my house. One even went inside.

If I see bats, I'm, going to try to catch them, put them in water, and see them swim myself!

Bats HATE water, as in rain. That's an awesome video. It looks near the end the bat is getting a little confused, maybe tired. But still, I didn't know they could swim, much less so well.

I'm willing to bet a Twinkie (or Ding Dong if you prefer) that neither that bat nor the giraffes would dip a toenail into the Brazilian Olympic Diving Pool.

So everybody is following it along the shore with a camera so that it can't find a safe place to get out of the water.

In fact I wouldn't doubt if they threw it in to see if it clouds swim! The bat looks exhausted and no one helps it out.
