I'm a CNC machinist. I like to make and build things. Not so handy with the craft side however.

Really? So if you wanted to you could mill a short sword like a gladius or my chosen tool a talibong itak?

Looks at my piggy bank. Looks at my hammer. Looks again at the piggy bank

I could if I had a drawing. Not sure on it's strength over forged iron vs tool steel.

Hmm, I may be able to get the blade and tang. Any kind of fancy handle would be beyond my abilities. Maybe this winter when our mill slows down.

No fancy handles. I can take them to a place and have those put on. Or if you make a simple one just please dont make a gaurd on it. I need to be able to extend my thumb along the blade spine for a proper saber grip.

Dude that would be amazing if you can make thst sorta stuff. Lets talk more about it as winter comes closer. Figure out pricing etc...

Chances are it would come out of a piece of A2 tool steel.

If I can get my hands on a drawing to program from, that would be good. Otherwise, I can put the work in and cut it from a piece of stock by hand and send it pre finished. You would have to stone and polish it. What dimensions are you thinking?

Blade length 18 inches. Tang not too important length wise. Can make to fit your hand even if its larger than mine. The base of the tang hangs out the back of the handle as a striking surface for punyos. Hammer fist with pommle of handle.

Can youd put a rough chisle edge or should i take that to someone. I can get a professional razor edge put on once recieved.

Yea, If doing by hand, I would leave a blunt edge.

ETA : I went digging and found a piece of .25 x 6.00 piece of 01 tool steel about 20 inches long, that should work.

That's if you wanted to harden it. I wouldn't. Not having much luck finding a CAD drawing.
