1987 years "Christianity" - and where is the Kingdom of God that Jesus preached? Instead, bloodshed of Christians in the first 3 centuries, followed by bloodshed of heretics, and of peoples who did not accept the new religion. Then followed by religious wars inside the Christendom. Finally, the civilized nations of 20th century with already built up cultural heritage upon the foundation of Christianity, started the two bloodiest wars after the Flood, one after another in less than 30 years. Some estimations say 100 mln people died only in 20th century.

That is followed by unprecedented population boom along with starvation and disease in the Third World. Today we don't have the means or the political will to feed those billions, and now they flood the once Christendom as migrants. The once Christian nations should decide between being merciful towards the newcomers who share other religion and cultural values, and being merciful towards their own children and elderly. The Churches are completely hopeless and irrelevant in that situation, not knowing what to speak anymore besides well known parables of the Gospel.

Is that what the mission of Jesus was all about? Is that what the nearly 2000 years Christian faith was all about? Where is the fruit of that faith in those 20 centuries? How is it it is not seen because of the sinfulness of man? How is it that Jesus didn't repair that sinfulness, as we were told he did with his life, death and resurrection?

Or is it that the Gospels are grossly misinterpreted, and even grossly rewritten one-two centuries after Jesus? Why is it that half of the books or more were banned as heretical in the dawn of Christian establishment? Another portion was never known until recently. Those books speak differently of Jesus Christ. May be the single biggest issue not spoken of in the canonical gospels, is his marriage to Mary Magdalene. He had children, therefore descendants. If that is missing from the canonical gospels, how could we say Jesus married the Church? And how many more things are omitted along with his marriage?

Something is grossly wrong, if we can't get any closer to the Kingdom of God preached by Jesus and saved in the canonical books. And the wrong part is not on the side of the common people, usually poor, who honestly believed in a merciful and loving son of God who forgave their human trespasses. The lists of sins of middle ages are just too long for ordinary people who didn't even read the books at that time. Today it is absurd to blame the young and old that they didn't understand and didn't fulfill the commandments, when they have sex for example. And to seek newer and newer martyrs to appear in order to justify already failed doctrine.

The sooner the real life of Jesus come to the surface, the better for all. Let start it all over, for th ebenefit of 2.5 bln Christians, and also of the rest of humanity who suffered enough from the actions of christians in the past. Time for change!

Or time to say good bye to humanity that put egoism before any morality and even before God.

The years are not 2000. There is 4 year difference in the birth date of Jesus, that is 4 BC (or as far as 7 BC). Thus Jesus should have died and resurrected around 29 AD and not 33 AD. That makes about 1987 years later to reach to 2016.

It is a gross failure! Enough is enough! The talks of an antichrist to absolve of christian own trespasses are even worse. Along with expectations of dramatic mass sacrifice after the example of Jesus. Jesus never ever taught that. He died instead of us so we can live, he didn't come so all of us die for him!

Offer something better, or go irrelevant in history, you false prophets! Your time is gone!

I will never understand how some one can realize how edited and politically motivated the present incarnation of the bible is. Yet choose to believe the least realistic parts are the parts it got right....

If the bible has been edited, why would the most supernatural parts be the part you believe in?!?!

Wouldn't logic dictate that if it has been edited constantly, that the craziest claims would be wrong as well?

On the contrary, one could say it the other way round. Maybe the craziest claims are the original ones and the sane ones are just sane, because edited?

Maybe they used the wrong testament and created the kingdom of God from the old book? Considering some of the tales, parables and atrocities contained with in are certainly synonymous with the world we have created in this day of age.

The concert of Scorpions on the 50th anniversary of the EU 2007 with the song Humanity that practically said Good bye to humanity in 3 languages and strong wording much stronger than mine, on the background of breathtaking videos. If there is a solution to that all, it should be given NOW. Not post factum to hear someone cleric saying: you know, the Christian doctrine envisioned that centuries ago, or Our Lady said that in apparition...We need solutions now. Those of us who want to continue the humanity.

Well, if they had stayed with the teachings of Jesus and told Paul to bug off, it would have gone better for women and children over the centuries. I don't care if religion is here or not. I care that they stay out of my personal business and making laws their way.

everything you do and live in, is predetermined to a greater degree by a sophisticated set of conditions that have their origin centuries earlier, when the predecessors of today's meek servants of God set it forth for all of us. We don't realize it today in the secular society, but only before the French revolution 1789 the full political power in Europe belonged to the Church and thru Church-related kings and princes. Even in the reformed part of Europe after 16th century. Indeed, 2 centuries + democracy changed something. But you cannot change the family you are born as well as many other things that are just given in life. Let alone, the political system since then is far from perfection. Much more important than the elections are the spiritual conditions. And here the responsible ones are those clothed in purple and red. For example, burning Giordano Bruno, they stopped the progress for 3 centuries. By now the humanity could have reached beyond Mars to Saturn's moons, just an example.

I don't see any attempt for reparation, only words. Benedict went on to say, everyone is responsible for his personal life and choices make his fate, something like that. As if everyone is guilty where he is born in what social status etc. We know the world is not a just place. But I expected much more from the servants of God who preached that Jesus carried our failures on his cross and resurrected us spiritually. That is plainly NOT SEEN int he world, neither in the selected minority of faithful Christians who fill in the Sunday churches. The clergy failed grossly in post-communist time to usher a new world of more social justice and peace. Perhaps attempts were done, especially by people like John Paul II, but they failed overall. The world is not a better place now than 30 years ago. The world is on the brink much more than in 1989. The poorer countries are not happier now. They are only overcrowded now, as a result partly of no-contraceptive policy of Vatican that controls not a small percentage population in the Third World. Not even condoms were permitted officially. And now those same people or their spiritual descendants will greet the migrants as God-given gift to Europe to refresh its ageing blood! Come on, where you are at? It is not the Middle age anymore to dictate!

I am sure theologians have an answer to everything. Only that answer doesn't suffice anymore.

Tomorrow someone, not exactly the pope. will call someone else the antichrist for offering something better. Because of prepositioned agenda some 18-19 centuries ago. And the billions will buy in. Why should we be bound by that paradigm coined around Constantine time in rewritten gospels and especially their absurd interpretation? Do you see the irony, the moment the humanity will get the chance to stand on its feet, may be for a first time after Eden garden, those people will say, that is the greatest deception of Satan and you will lose your souls for eternity if you accept that plan, no matter how good and loving you are! If there is something against the Gospel of Love of Jesus Christ, it is the idea that someone called antichrist can throw in hell for nothing evil done. In a sense, that s the doctrine of the real antichrists who want to cancel the heritage of God's chosen people and promises given to Abraham. Who want endless new martyrs to repay for their own failures. Who don't want a prosperous world that builds in the Kingdom of God preached by Jesus Christ!

Once again a Christian retort and replies by people who do not believe in God or that God is powerful enough to preserve his words to every generation forever Psalm 12:6, 7.

I find it disheartening that there really is no faith today. Which points to Jesus Christ soon return

Lu 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

The powers that be have always used religion to further their vain ends. Power, greed and control are best sustained through deep fervent belief structures like nationalism and religion.

'Defend the flag, for God and Country' are rally cries for credulous people.

Humanity's job was to preach the gospel throughout the world, not build God's kingdom on Earth. Revelation makes it very clear that only God himself can do that.

Humanity will either believe of we won't, and the church is there for those of us who do to have fellowship and encourage each other in our faith. Remember, a church is any gathering of believers, even down to just two or three - my family is a church.

We don't believe it because it is a lie. A fantasy.

No, Chet, it does not.

Jesus is not coming back, and the fact that people have "lost faith" in a pack of myths indicates that humanity is outgrowing superstitious, ridiculous dogma.

Just stop. Stop. You're wearing yourself (and everyone else out) with your failure to pass the class of common sense.

The Bible is an artifact of human origin. PERIOD.

It truly bothers me that you are unable to GRASP this factoid.
Jesus. NOT coming back. Fact.

You find that disheartening? That people aren't falling for your nonsense? I find it wonderfully refreshing. Get over it, move on, live the rest of your life without worrying about anything regarding Jesus or your book. You'll get along just fine without it, and we all will get along better when you cease and desist.

Thanks in advance.

Bull crap.

Humanity's job is to procreate, and to get along well enough to see our specie thrive. THAT is why we're here. To learn - for our SOULS to learn. That happens by helping others, by calling out lies and disinfo - by refusing to fall for anyone's crap. Whatever Jesus said was also said by other sages and wise men.

We are here to learn - this is a school.
THAT IS IT. That is all.
We need to take care of our planet. We need to NOT teach people lies or scare the living crap out of them.

Preaching of some invented words you call the Gospel is not "humanity's job." It's just what you were told; and it isn't true or necessary or productive. Neither what you're teaching, nor what you believe.

It's holding us back...

PERIOD.

Stop holding us back, all of you. Stop with the Disinfo.
For the sake of the children and every other human being. STOP lying.

1. Jesus said that His Kingdom did not appear by observation.

2. Jesus said that He did come to bring peace, but a sword.

actually I periphrase the lyrics of Humanity of Scorpions. Here it is, performed for the first time at the 50th anniversary of Rome treaty, or the first EU foundation.

www.azlyrics.com...

Humanity
Auf wiedersehen
It's time to say goodbye
The party's over
As the laughter dies
An angel cries

Humanity
It's au revoir to your insanity
You sold your soul to feed your vanity
Your fantasies and lies

You're a drop in the rain
Just a number not a name
And you don't see it
You don't believe it
At the end of the day
You're a needle in the hay
You signed and sealed it
And now you gotta deal with it
Humanity
Humanity
Goodbye
Goodbye

Be on your way
Adios amigo there's a price to pay
For all the egotistic games you played
The world you made
Is gone

You're a drop in the rain
Just a number not a name
And you don't see it
You don't believe it
At the end of the day
You're a needle in the hay
You signed and sealed it
And now you gotta deal with it
Humanity
Humanity
Goodbye
Goodbye

Run and hide there's fire in the sky
Stay inside
The water's gonna rise and pull you under
In your eyes I'm staring at the end of time
Nothing can change us
No one can save us from ourselves

You're a drop in the rain
Just a number not a name
And you don't see it
You don't believe it
At the end of the day
You're a needle in the hay
You signed and sealed it
Now you gotta deal with it
Humanity
Humanity
Humanity
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
