There is a big chance that no matter how good this movie is I will hate it, because the dark forces/ Jedi knight series is one of my favorite star wars game and this movie will make them non cannon.

Thanks for making my day. My favorite Star Wars novels are the ones that take place in between Episodes 4,5,6. When I read Timothy Zahns Heir To The Empire in the early 90's it was like I just crawled out of the desert and had a nice cold drink of water. I was in just finishing 3rd grade when A New Hope came out and have loved it ever since.

When I read the novel for The Force Awakens which I purchased at 12:01am on kindle I was so disappointed I decided to wait and watch it on DVD. I almost got physically ill by the time it was over.

I read that they re-shot a bunch of it and after watching this trailer I do believe I'll be freezing my butt of in Decrmber in line to get in.

Pretty much everything has been dropped as non cannon. Sucks, since the world was so lush with great stories and so many ways things could have been.

Glad I could make the day a little bit better. Just like you those stories that Timothy Zahn did were so wonderful and "Heir to the Empire", cover for the book always stuck out to me as great artwork. Even ripped the cover off my book and put it up on my wall when i was younger. Heck might even have it in a box somewhere.

Sorry to hear that the you didn't care for the book and movie for The Force Awakens. Trust it was not perfect, great or anything. even with that said I enjoyed it for a new take for a new generation, not my generation but for a new generation of fans.

Just like you I will be out in the cold for the next movie and might even hit up the drive - in and watch the movie here in TN.

Brilliant move doing a prequel and bringing Darth Vader back (James Earl Jones)! Even though he's not the main villain which I'm totally okay with! Well played Disney!

I've been waiting for this. Huge Star Wars nerd. I was lucky enough to experience the magic of the first as a child when it was released. I have limited edition Star Wars Lego kits in my office.

My biggest beef has always been after Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back that the movies got too campy. I've been wanting a Star Wars with with the Christopher Nolan treatment similar to how Batman was done.

I hope this is it...

Where's the dark troopers and kyle katan? Perhaps they'll make a cameo. Loves the dark forces series.

For some reason, seeing that trailer made me feel that Star Wars should have a live-action television series on the SyFy channel.

Same here. I've even been privileged enough to have some nice conversations with Tim about it, and Thrawn is still the best villain in the SW Universe...I gave him flack about killing Mara, but he said that actually wasn't his decision.

But, not up to us, and I still thought Force Awakens was pretty epic, and just what the Dr. ordered.

From the trailers so far, I have equal hopes of Rogue One, and I don't think I'll be disappointed.

Am I bummed they didn't go the Thrawn route? You bet.... But luckily, they still delivered a great movie. And those characters from Zahn's stories will still live in our hearts and minds. No worries there.
