Is it okay with you if I post the contest's opening thread? I have a rather precise idea of what the thread should look like - actually I've already prepared the thread (heavily based on tothetenthpower's writing contest threads). I personally won't be sumbitting any art, I will most probably be managing keeping up with the entries, counting the stars and flags, and answering possible suggestions and questions (some have already been sent to me via U2U). That way all you'd have to do is distribute the prizes once it's all over.

How about having 2 categories - one for traditional media and one for computer art?
They are so vastly different it seems a logical way to approach it.
That way we can have multiple winners.

What if they were submitted but with no name?
Judged purely on the work with no member name stigma attached?

These are good ideas, however perhaps later in the game.

Maybe it would be good to keep the first contest as simple and familiar as possible, then apply those ideas onto the next contests - once everyone's got a firm hang of it.
