I am uber proud to say that my own cousin (and I am sure I am hinting to who I could potentially be if someone REALLY cared to look through Facebook..but I so don't care right now)....is sailing in the 2016 Olympics. She is strongly considered with her partner for medal contention. They were recently ranked number 4 in the world for their class so let's do this thing! The family is crazy proud of her and I cannot wait. I am taking holiday time just so I can sit home without distractions and watch her go!

That's very exciting for you and your family!
I plan on watching the Olympics. Do you know when this event is on?
I've not found a schedule yet. I like all water sports.

Well unfortunately, she was in 3rd place going into the medal race, and she was in the lead for two of five marks...she had a spinnaker fail and she ended in dead last, no medal.

Of course I am ridiculously proud of her

But as she was crossing the line, the boat camera showed 10 nauseating seconds of my cousin crying so hard and looking hurt

that was not what I wanted to see
