FWIW, the X-2 will be viewable by the public at Gifu airbase in Japan on October 30.

I wish I hadn't opened this post. Now all I can think about is a voyage to Japan.
If I could go, that would be an opportunity and a half, and I would not disappoint with what I brought back!
However After touring these museums recently, my Canon 6D desperately needs a wider angle lens to better capture bigger aircraft on display! Anyone got a good wide angle EOS lens that works well with industrial environments?
If no one else can make this journey, I can possibly volunteer my time and frequent flyer miles to see this bird.
I'd be happy to donate to the cause as well.
