Can you choose one performance in a music video as being the best of all-time?

Please define "best performance" for yourself. It's a subjective matter that each person must determine individually.

I still remember watching Billy Idol's "Cradle Of Love" music video as a teenager, and thinking, "This is the greatest music video that will ever exist." It's decades later, and I still think Betsy Lynn George's performance in the video is the best of all-time.

I think he wants the 'hottest girl' segment of the videos

Like Bobbi Brown in Warrent kr a great white video.
Or
tony kattan in a whitesnake video

I've got to go with Michael Jackson and Thriller. Until then, there was nothing like it. The storytelling. The production values. The choreography. It broke new ground in all aspects. The King of Pop got his crown by being king of MTV.

MTV made a lot of artists, Not so big a deal today, back then this was painstaking stop motion work, done on real film cameras, not CGI.

Eddie Vedder & Pearl Jam, performing live on MTV unplugged.
Especially;
Jeremy
Black
& Porch

The whole gig (only 36m) is amazing.

I love all of MJ's videos. The one with the panther is good, not sure what song that is.

Nobody beats him!
