For sheer ingenuity, dare-devilry and just plain stupidity it would seem that the working man would be hard to beat.

Courtesy of the Daily Mail here are some breath-taking examples of his art:

Anyone have any impressive stories of their own?

Two men, a scissor lift, a chainsaw, tree limbs and power lines.

I was almost a widow. All the witnesses claim the only thing that saved them were the tires on the lift.

Even smart men can do impressively stupid things.

First of all, get a really dull chain saw...

This makes me feel sick.

I'm one of those "worst case scenario" people......

I'm probably going to have a heart attack and die young from all the things I see that stress me out.

Oh noes - I don't want to be responsible for your demise.

I always see the funny side of this sort of thing, but what really puzzles me is how the heck did they set any of it up? Just trying to fathom that would stop me feeling any sort of queasiness.

Yikes, my Stihl chainsaw would have cut that in 5 seconds. He should have sharpened his chain and picked a better spot. Lucky he was not hurt worse. Widow-makers!

I know stupid is as stupid does.

He should have 'undercut' the limb first to prevent it kicking back.

For sure he should have undercut that limb. Nice find. You could start a funny thread. How to not cut a limb with a chainsaw!

Sorry I don't know how to post pics, but here's what my husband used to do:

Structural Steel Construction

He was doing structural steel welding at the time. He loved it... I hated it. The higher the building he was constructing, the scarier it was for me. I was very happy when he found something better

Why is it always men? Are they just naturally, how shall I say it to be polite. "risktakers?"

Provide a photo to the contrary instead of complaining about sexism.

I watched a five story office building go up right across the street. These guys would walk the beam from end to end, rather quickly too, and NEVER safety-line up. I asked somebody else that hangs windows (glazer) and he said, "Slows them down too much" to hook up. I felt better when plank walkways were put in! I would not trust my sense of balance that much! Let alone a skyscraper in NYC!

I have to do some stunt-work with my extension ladder sometimes. No one's taken a pic of me yet though. Instead they just stand around and gawk saying things like, "I'd never do that!"

Even though this guy is just showing off, it's pretty crazy. His hooks aren't even on the strand. His ladder could have taken off on him any second.

If you can do it once, you get the job. The more you do it, the easier it gets.

Okay this guy is either nuts, or just has some huge ones.

Great topic, OP! It is pretty amazing what risks people will take just to put in a day's work.

Yip picture 2 & 4 for me , been there doing stupid things like that to get the job done , my favourite was a scaffolding plank out of a window above a busy high street to get a window painted with someone inside sitting on it , you look back years later and wonder what was going through your mind at the time

Picture 1 was my favourite.

I so wanted to be there when he finally cut through that tree

Although I expect he cheated and got off the ladder in the nick of time.

That is just crazy, they have no fear. At least they don't have to walk the plank on a pirate ship!
