Two Baton Rouge police officers killed in shooting Sunday, mayor's office confirms

Baton Rouge Police spokesman Sgt. Don Coppola confirmed that several officers were shot by gunfire.

The scene is "contained," he said, but police are asking everyone to stay out of the area.

Can we go one freaking day without this nonsense?

I know that statistically the world is less violent every year, but these past few weeks it seems like every time I get online I'm seeing another atrocity.

I'm hoping this wasn't some BLM yahoos, the ones that get violent are making race relations so much worse for all of us and certainly putting black people at more risk from police who are understandably jumpy right now.

This is the same area that a 12 year old boy and others were arrested for plotting to kill police.

Things are getting out of hand, we need some real leadership.
