It looks like this coup failed. Of course now everybody is making statements about how they support the democratically elected government of Erdogan. I don't think the US really did and unless NATO sees a marked diminution of problems emanating from Turkey, I think we can expect at some point to see him removed from office, perhaps by more devious means.

Erdoğan appeared on live television from Istanbul, he stated that he had plans to "clean up" the army.

Good to know some people has their priorities in order...

Ever since Erdogan apologized to Putin for downing it's jet, the country has seen a terrorist attack at its airport and now an attempted coup.

It'll be interesting to find out the details.

Considering the coup is an internal affair, it would be plausible to say that anyone who supports either side who is not from Turkey (like yourself) is likewise meddling. Would it not?

So why are you so keen to meddle by supporting Erdogan? Don't you think the Turks should settle their own affairs without your outside interference?
