www.telegraph.co.uk...

So...4 months after sinking the Belgrano in the Falklands, HMS Conqueror finds herself equipped with some big wire cutters and trailing a Soviet spy trawler in the Barents sea.
The mission? To cut off and steal the towed array sonar that the Soviets invented and which was giving Nato such jitters.

Fair play guys, if Tom Clancy had written this book then people would have just said he was mad.
Though I did read his non fic title Submarine, where he stated that RN subs weren't just respected, but feared, so maybe he knew something.

Wow I almost thought this was about drinking at a bar...definitely an interesting story that I will look into further.

Funny thing is when I was a drinker and younger I went on a few operation barmaids myself...mine was sure different than this one.

What happens if they cut this array off and while they are trying to grab it up, the Russian ship sinks them ?
Would that be fair?

In the article it mentions HMS Churchill getting depth charged after failing to grab the cable previously.

So, yeah, probably would be seen as fair.
