What law would have stopped this?

The Law that say's it's ok for Police to brutalise and shoot unarmed Afro Americans and get away with it where the only punishment handed out is a promotion to chief of Police. That Law.

What is happening to America? Why is the country completely going to hell right at the end of Obama's presidency? Serious question.

I'm going to work on the assumption, correct me if I'm wrong, that you are, generally, a law abiding citizen.

As such, laws hold meaning to you, and you, again generally, obey them.

What is the difference between those folks doing the shooting last night, and yourself?

You obey the laws of the land. They, however, do not.

Their intent was to commit whole-sale murder last night, and they did. A million more laws will not prevent things like this. No amount of wishing will make it so. Certainly not and have a nation that I have any interest in living in, because it will cease to be a Republic in anything but name.

Gun laws are followed by law abiding citizens, much like yourself, presumably. Criminals do not, generally, follow the law, being criminals and all.

What amendment to any existing law would have prevented that horror last night?

Odds are those guns were either stolen, or purchased on the black market, not purchased legally.

Yes.

What I want to know is, why?

What was your motivation?

My suggestion to all peoples is to slow down and review all the information and look for things that stand out as wrong... or inconsistent... and reach your own conclusion.

I may just be having trust issues today but I wouldnt trust anything put out by the govt or the media... the timing is just to odd for me.

I also freely admit this could be a group of nut jobs with no affiliation to BLM, Or a mosque... or radical white supremacists, or govt agents..

The glaring reality to me.... and it's my opinion, but shared by many, is that this was retaliation for the two Black men killed. Both were gruesome and done in the presence of family members.

I believe you are correct that this is only the beginning, and that escalation is going to be forthcoming.

Right or wrong, this is only a logical observation, but I believe highly accurate.

How about we gather facts before we attack the bill of rights...

You know make rational decisions based on facts rather than knee jerk emotional decisions..

F*ck the bill of rights.
Kneejerk? Are you serious? This isn't a one-off is it?

The facts have been displayed over and over, but they keep getting ignored because "I have my rights" trumps common sense.

Guns are not the solution, they are also not the real problem. But they cause more harm than they do good.
But yeah... lets knee-jerk to that conclusion since this is the first gun death right? Idiots.

Would you care to link that for me, 'cause I've never seen that particular law...ever.

If anything, quite the opposite.

If such things are being done, and we all know they do happen, then it's the fault of the citizens for allowing it to happen. It's called lack of oversight.

Were we to actually give a good god damn about things like this, they wouldn't happen. But we're much too interested in vegging out on the couch watching reruns, or arguing about bathrooms.

But you know that, right?

No.

With all due respect its just that outright dismissal that needs addressing.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that gun ownership in the USA should be banned.....or they must be a complete idiot if they are, gun ownership is engrained in the American psyche and there are far too many guns in circulation to make it impractical.

But something HAS to be done, you, as a nation, can not continue like this.

What can be done?
I don't know...and even if I had strong views on it I wouldn't be so arrogant and presumptive to suggest anything.

But surely the status quo can not continue, you can't keep on ignoring the possibility that some sort of increased gun control may be PART of the answer.
Of course the problem goes much deeper....and I fear that recognition of those other contributory problems may be too painful a truth for many, many Americans to admit.

Surely America can't continue saying how tragic these events are and then continue to do absolutely # all about it, can you?

Have a Snickers.

You always want to deny rights when you get hungry.

Seriously, attacking the Bill of Rights is the wrong direction to take. Lets find out who did the shootings first.

Thank you for perfectly illustrating why laws should never be passed in the throws of an emotional temper tantrum.

As other said maybe we should ban free speech till hate speech is eradicated?

I missed the kitty.

I dunno, that group makes sense to me. I suppose it could be anything from white supremacists (kinda doubt it) trying to stir s up to freaking Isis.

Yeah, I know how you feel. I'm open tho.

Hey they could come out with something out of left field, that leaves everyone scratching their heads!

Who knows anymore, these days.
