Promises

Your eyes, they say so many things,
They promise to fulfill my dreams.
You look at me so confidently,
Like you see more in me, than others see.

But I've seen that look somewhere before,
And I'm not a naive little girl anymore.
Your promises were never meant to last,
And this time, I think I'm gonna pass.

I'll let another be the fuel for your desire,
I'll wait for someone who's of higher,
Caliber, who'll seek more than just,
What you offer me with your promises.

Last one for tonight..I promise
