Paul was very clear about ritual law, keeping the sabbath, keeping Kosher

Where do you stop and where do you start with what you choose to obey
Don't work Sunday's? No big issue, just why ignore the other Old Testament commandments.

Goshredak acknowledged the 10 commandments and latter suggested 6 through to 10 were extra special, hearing lies our problem
The laws that are easy, extra special, become more important

I love how a Christian church will condemn homosexuals But won't condemn lust. Simply because there are very few people struggling with homosexuality in the church.

Though I am not familiar with Christian Liberty, I will,go and learn

It's not ignoring the commandments. It's understanding the intent of the commandments.

The Ten Commandments are Jewish law. The Jewish law is done.

But to consider those commandments and their intent isn't wrong.

The Christian Commandments are these: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul, and the second is like it, to love your neighbor as you love yourself.

Upon these hang the law and the prophets.

And for the gentiles, no greater burden was laid upon us. Our commandments are to not eat anything sacrificed to idols, eat nothing strangled, eat no blood, and do not fornicate.

If we do these, we will do well.

Jesus has made it far simpler than everyone wants it to be.

That's the reason few find the way. Because it's so incredibly simple. In a world of complexity, that is a hard thing to find.

If cavtrooper wants to consider the 10 Commandments, by all means, let him. That's FINE. It doesn't interfere with the love of God.

theres another issue. ten commandments intended to guide our species through its entire lifespan, from the first human to the last. and the first four are wasted on making sure we know whose posterior we are gluing our lips to? seems like "slavery is bad" and "no means no" might have deserved a spot on that list. especially for someone who had to have seen all this modern day BS coming a thousand miles away. because lying wasnt self evident enough, and stealing needed to be written in stone (heh) but for some reason, rape and slavery and youtube ads failed to make the cut.

Depends, HOW do you feel about killing and the military?
AM I in Violation of faith here?
MANY would die before they would know it, out of fear they are.

I personally can't do it. I have a RE3F and JGA-1 because of it.

I debated with the Chaplain about this, and a Navy Officer told me I was the sanest person they had met, before giving me an official discharge due to anxiety and depression disorder.

Which isn't true.

I can't do it.

But I think the Lord allows for the defense of nations.

I just can't kill a child.

ETA the officer was a Corpsman. I was in the Marines.

OH yeah and I THREATEN the 'BABY KILLER" yelling crowd too so I'm very bad...

I think you're fine, and I think they're fine. The Lord loves those who follow orders and uses them.

I was not so righteous.

You're far better than me.

I violated articles 81, 92, and 134.

But I didn't violate 134, that's not true. I don't know why they tacked that on.

The officer that found me disabled was B.R. Chavez, PhD Lt. MSC USNR.

War is nothing but a gate of hell.
Unguarded, it tends to pay a visit,NERO fans here tend to disagree..it's a problem, they will at LEAST be educated partially if I speak up.
ARTICLES? Meh.
SOME have it INSIDE and some DON'T ,if the ones who do ,no longer show up, either because of self value or fear, THEN they go to a draft.
I don't feel superior, accept as a warrior ,which it the test in life I saught since a boy.

"just following orders" was the tune to which millions died in the last world war.

as far as excuses go, thats among the cheapest. kudos to tarzan for taking a stand against his government in concern to slaughtering children. one of the reasons i didnt join.

I agree. I was willing to die. I wasn't willing to kill children.

I'm still willing to die. Feel like it after leaving. That was 2004, though, Fallujah was the big thing.

ETA I made an oath to the National Ensign and the Constitution. That never goes away.

CHEAPEST?
Again go peddle your philosophy in school.
If YOU fail to see the need of a military not to mention the value of having a strong one, then I can but inform you I educate people's kids with little patience.

im sorry, did you skip over the part about slaughtering children needlessly? the armed forces are supposed to represent authority and security where they are lacking, not to bulldoze a straight line where finesse would save lives and preserve families. the military has become brutal, particularly in areas where coverage is limited and repercussions are all but nonexistent. "dont ask, dont tell" doesnt just apply to homosexuality anymore.

does it matter? innocent civilians are not a commodity that can be traded for this many enemy combatants or that much ground recovered. whats the point in taking back a village if there is no one left to live in it? or eliminating a terrorist cell only to take its place? and my all time favorite: "kill em all and let god sort em out". we will never know what the military has done to keep us "safe". and we will never know who they stepped on or how hard to do it. but we are off topic now, my apologies for the side tracking.

Yet, you hold onto Paul's words, which contradict James making the above instructions to the gentiles who were getting "saved".

Paul says,
Therefore concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that there is no such thing as an idol in the world, and that there is no God but one. 1 Cor. 8:4

Jesus says,
But I have a few things against you: you have some there who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, so that they might eat food sacrificed to idols and practice sexual immorality.
Rev. 2:14

Yea, that's just one thing Paul contradicts Jesus on. There are many more.
