Here is where my problem lies, my wife and I were very active in the "Life Style" for a few years, and a lot of those folks bragged about teaching Sunday school, but I know what they were doing Saturday night.

Well, thankfully people are easily influenced and/or compassionate. The world has been against homosexuality for a long time. They have suffered much because of holy books.

Now we're just going to ignore that the bible has influenced massive amounts of horrid crimes against LGBT because western society love gays now!

It's absurd, and if I was apart of LGBT i would never call myself a christian or any homosexual-hating religion.

Why not just give indians casino and then slap their stereotypical face on a mascot to blatently say, "we LOVE indians now". Lets forget our past and foundations of violent racism. Instead of leaving violent foundations, we will write over them and pretend they were always pretty.

Thats all christians are doing. Just pretending.

Hateful ,to seek SOLACE from an invasive idea?
" Get off my lawn" comes to mind.
I only hear about HOW RUDE the others are and well they sort of cut their own throat when they talk.
Haven't been to church in years.
Nor would I be foolish enough to think YOU could understand my faith,to decide what is TRUE.
I DON'T just speak for myself in this regard.

every single human life on planet earth is spent pretending that their 50+/- years on earth will last past the next hundred or so by virtue of procreation, land development or scholarly record. we all pretend because we are here regardless and no one wants to just sit down and spontaneously decompose in the face of such cosmic futility. so we fake it until we either break or make it. hell, some people are willing to join a suicide mission to an alien world because they know its a closed circuit all around.

they weren't too kind to women either.
and while some christians worked to extend freedom to them, other's preached it would cause horrible problems.

and at one time, in colonial america, women were criticized for being "too familiar" with their husbands. like actually believing that love had any value in a marriage was such an insane idea!!

if you want a religion that isn't equipped to grow and evolve, maybe you should go and talk to ISIS.. they seem to think they should remain in the dark ages.

we should remember the past, and recognize the injustices that have occurred in the past, do all we can to keep from bringing those injustices back into our reality. but, at some point we have to forgive our ancestors for not being as "evolved" as we are.

Maybe you should have posted key sentences from the article as some people seem not to have bothered to read the whole text. I wonder if the problem would be solved by changing the name into Straight Christian Mingle.

We were very active in the swingers lifestyle for a couple of years, yeppers, it is hard to believe, but they would get online and brag about all of their church activities. As a long time agnostic, I was pretty appalled.

Personally, I would think that you're a bigoted, racist POS, and I would avoid your restaurant and advise every single person with whom I came into contact to do the same.

But that said, I think that you have the right to open up that kettle of worms and reap whatever justice (of the non-judicial variety) were to come your way.

I would agree with you in that case, but if I opened a coffee shop and posted a sign that read, "No Hetero Christians Allowed", I would be on Fox News forever, and protested out the ass.

Why should business' be forced to serve everyone without constraint?

This is a business that specifically caters to christians. Why do they have to serve everybody? Putting the law aside, what moral reasoning is there for this?

Mostly because throughout history Christians have been bigots.

Yea.. but what reason do we have to practice our ancestor's traditions and beliefs?

We cling to things that make no sense in the modern era... We cling to books that call for witch burnings..

You haven't seemed to figure out, that I am pretty much my own person, don't take threats lightly, and am fully prepared to defend myself, verbally and physically. I am a former fundie, catholic, methodist, baptist, etc. I decided about 25 years ago that invisible sky fairies weren't my thing. I am a former boy scout, a veteran, a son, father, and brother, they have all made me who I am, but none of them define me.

I buy alcohol and cigarettes from Muslims 3 or 4 times a week, they have never refused my cash. Had a guy in one store, that I used to discuss differences with all the time, an intelligent guy, he got to the point where it bothered him to sell those things, and he quit his job. I know everyone has values that are sacred to them, but right wing christians are using the same arguments against gay marriage as they used against interracial marriage, am guessing your congregation is pretty white.

If you are Christian, do you refer to yourself as "Straight Christian"? Or just Christian?

I have no idea, I don't bother with religion...but I suppose nowadays it doesn't matter?

I 'd have to believe in organized religion.
My faith is too important for that.
You see what people fail guess about me is I THINK the organized religions of man are control measures, but I believe in Jesus and God.
I do so because I'm still HERE despite studious and hard won debauchery and battle.
It works for me.

And I have faith in myself, and am still here, who's right, who's wrong? If it works for you, I am happy for you, but do not try to apply it to anyone else. We are all different, but my main function in life has become finding equality for all, and when someone wants to stand in the way, I strike.

When I got married in 2005, I danced with my best man, he was a 6'4", 250 lb gay black man. We didn't dance together to be a spectacle, we danced together to show the love we had for each other. Unfortunately, I have lost my best friend to cancer, but my wife and I remember him often.
