The US declared it's freedom in 1776.

Since then, politicians have spent their lives trying to reverse it.

I'll be voting for Gary Johnson also.

you are correct, although the U.S. declared independence in 1776 and in the eye of the founders was a new nation.
that didn't come about until 1783, when the last british troops left in nov of that year.

up until the near end when the french came in it could have went either way.

ETA:
as far as Johnson, yea i prefer him over both hump and billary, it's not gonna happen. the fix is in and billary is already been decided on by those that run things.
