The 'name' is not a name but a statement - an untrue statement - it can never be now again because it is never not now!

It has been recognised that there is just life - so there is no one here that wants to do anything with life.
Life is simply what appears to be happening.

all of our problems stem from our lack of understanding don't they?

The person has problems, you don't have any.

What is your original face before you were born?

Ordinary mind is the way.

Complete doubt.

Not sure I understand your question…

I don’t belong to any known theology or religious thought, like Zen, Hindu, Buddhist etc…I’ve had my own inner realisation through the Bible, OT and Gnostic texts…

I guess Gnostic is the closest thing I would use to describe myself, but even that isn’t quite accurate…because of the differences in Gnosticism…

I see error and truth in All scriptures…So I’ve pretty much moved beyond any labels to put onto myself…

Peace

Error and truth are both labels.

What if there was no one to save ? Not even yourself.

Would you still be compassionate and giving ?

The world spins and your neighbour goes shopping.

What your pointing out is pretty much one uses theory and the other uses practicality, where your type A is seeking context and understanding from perceptive while B would be texture, or maybe application. Interaction?

When I used the word label, I meant my current belief is not a known one, hence it is beyond labels, i.e. it’s not a known label, such as Hinduism or Zen Buddhism or Christian etc…most other things, do have labels to help described them though…

Your what if question, doesn’t deal with reality…there is always someone who needs help out there, or those who are humbly seeking truth and guidance…

But to answer your question, “would I still be compassionate and giving”, yes, I would be…

There is no such thing as enlightenment.

Enlightenment is a constant state of flux where you are constantly making improvement in a never ending cosmic array of changes and experience.

I think using the word enlightened in this way really cheapens the word.

People should do as they please, they have free will after all. I think this is a non question, if people want to try to "enlighten" people then they should go for it. If not, I don't see a problem with that.

Why do you say this? Do you doubt the sincerity of great masters like Buddha and Jesus? The state described by such masters is not some vague ill defined semantic construct. It's a real state of awareness that can be attained.

You would have to ignore the basis of all esoteric traditions to deny this.

I recently went to a meditation and presentation with this woman. She is no avatar. I don't believe she is enlightened. I have been in the presence of someone who was "awake" and self realized. The joy from that individual radiated across a room, and everyone felt it and was drawn to it.

I sat two rows back, looked at her face the entire time, was open and waiting to feel something. No joy, no energy. Just a woman sitting up on a platform. Her talk was not of a deep or high level. It was basically, we should not hate anyone.

I felt that everyone in the room was hypnotized almost, just worshiping her. It was creepy and cult-like. I am a believer in the ability of people to wake up from the dream and be forever changed, to be beyond the ego and form.

She wears fine jewelry and saris, makeup, and has "handlers" or what have you bustling about, and selling her wares in the back of the room. To me, that is not a guru, avatar or enlightened human. That is a business.

Anyone else with firsthand exposure to Amma?

Ok, so I am late to this thread.

I'd make a few comments.

(1) identifying oneself as spiritually enlightened could be a trap. What I mean is, you may think you are, yet you are not.
(2) The old saying "you can lead a horse to water, but not make it drink" applies to this situation. Guiding people who are neither willing nor ready, is basically abuse.
and
(3) Classifying people as two types, is a mistake. The world is full of a myriad or people, of different types and views.

SO basically, your enlightenment, may not be mine.

I say this coming from a spiritual path which is not Abrahamic, it is that of my ancestors, the Pre-Christian Celtic peoples, and some of the northern Germanic ones (aka Scandinavians). The lessons from my gods, will be different from someone who is Abrahamic.

Spiritually I tend to be of the mind, that if I am to "teach someone" they will find me.
Intellectually I will not teach those unwilling, or unable to follow the teachings I have.

First, I cannot claim to be enlightened, if I did that it would be my road to destruction. So therefore I am not. But if you have truth by all means share it...but don't cast your pearls before swine.
Remember: The world loves a lie, but hates the truth.

Hmm... good.

As for reality, even saying it has no label is putting a label on it. A 'no label' label.

As for yourself, well... dig deeper.

This is a question to those who have spiritually awoken. To those who have seen the truth within themselves irrespective of how they have arived there. And if you’re wondering what I’m getting at, see the link in my signature (Spiritual Wisdom Quotes)…

Recently I’ve been torn between two modes of thinking regarding approaching others, and helping to guide them into the light so to speak. My question is divided between 2 groups people, type (A) and type (B)…my question is this…

Should we enlightened ones, try to help guide everyone out there into “the truth”…? And when I say everyone, I mean to the best of our ability…

People type (A) are those who are already a part of some type of Religion X, or some other type of mindset. I mean those who are only interested in their own rhetoric in most cases; the ones who think they’re already in “the truth” etc… Part of me wants to help these people more, because I see that they are trapped in fear based belief systems, and yet at the same time it’s a difficult mindset to break down and the cost to oneself is high due to friction and arguments etc…

Or should we only help people type (B)…those who are geniunly seeking, the ones whos minds aren’t made up and who are asking the important questions. One can clearly see who those types are; they are the ones who are humbling themsevles, and are being completely honest in their search. These types of people fit into the mould of that wise saying “when the student is ready the teacher will arrive”…and are clearly ready to listen and be guided. I say guided because I’m a big believer in not forcing any truth onto any individual…

I guess the correct answer from the heart is to help both types of people…I remember a few years back, reading some type of philosophy in either Hinduism or Budhism, I can’t remember exactly which, that talked about how everything in the universe and nature is just unfolding in perfection, and how there was no need to go out and try to save/enlighten people or everybody etc… Although I think there are different takes on spreading the word in both of those religions…

At first I thought this sounded really cold, but when I began to realise that everyone is on their own spiritual journey, and that many lessons have to be learned over many lifetimes, it started to make some kind of sense. But here’s the thing, after many lifetime lessons, people type (B) are invariably the ones who are spiritually ready to be guided…

Thanks for reading…I look forward to your thoughts and opinions…

The correct answer for all life forms is to help everyone onto the path of light regardless if they be murderers, Luster's of children, average Joe's, snotty people, non human entities, and spirits etc... The ultimate truth lies with in this easy to understand guidance.

Kindness, compassion, and forbearance .

It can be the hardest path to follow, but it is the truest path.

The answer is in your own heart.

Stop thinking. Go to your quiet space, where you can be alone; go to the still quiet place in your heart and await patiently. God will place knowledge in your heart and if it breaks you will know peace that passes all understanding and have your answer.
