I can see the SPLC declaring the National Honor Society a hate group, resulting in its exclusion from childhood academia.

Smart students making stupid students feel... well, stupid.

They wouldn't have to exclude it. No one would be able to qualify for it. Schools would be mandated to enact a new redistributive policy aimed at correcting the decades of exploitative grade abuse by intelligent kids. See, only a very small percentage of the kids are hoarding the majority of the grade pie resulting in only a very few being able to earn the majority of the world's grade points for the highest and best GPAs.

So, those who have too much will be taxed and those points will be redistributed to those who just don't have as much through no fault of their own. They need a GPA hand up.

After that, almost no one will be able to qualify for the standards of the National Honor Society anymore, so it will either need to lower its standards to become more inclusive or admit that it is an old, intelligist institution whose time has gone and it should be relegated to the dust piles of the more shameful chapters of our history.

The millennial generation is also doing an awful lot of good. Don't get me wrong, I'm irritated that 30 year old people are living with their parents, and have the emotional maturity of 4 year old kids, while demanding handouts for just breathing.

But that isn't the majority of them. Remember millennials are also this generation of engineers, doctors, scientists, and entrepreneurs. They are scary good at living in a technological world, and we've also been fighting various conflicts since 9/11. Been pretty busy, actually.

The problem is that the ones who aren't busy, they get the attention because the rest of us are at work creating the future that makes those turds comfy.

There are complex reasons why so many 30-year-olds are sitting at home. For one thing, we have a stagnant economy, and when that happens, you are stuck waiting for someone else to retire to open up a job, and then the competition for it is vicious, assuming it isn't immediately outsourced globally (a process called sunsetting).

This is partially what free trade has brought us. We need to loosen the chains that make outsourcing so attractive rather than just keeping those jobs in the states for our own talent, either by demolishing, renegotiating those agreements or by deregulating or both. Either way, until the economy grows again, there won't be many jobs to compete for.

And when job competition is this tight, lack or experience and emotional maturity will come into play. Those things cannot be fixed except through growth and maturity and experience which simply are difficult to get in this stagnant economy.
